"Vic did a wonderful job. We started with cement walls and floor, and ended up with a beautiful basement. Vic did most of the work himself, and researched and hired subcontractors for the rest. We had a roughed in bathroom, which he finished. As far as I can tell, he can do any kind of contracting needed. He was always conscientious about noise and any mess. He kept us in the loop for all decisions that needed making. He came up with interesting ways to make our project better. He came up with a closet for the bathroom that was very useful and looks very nice. We definitely will hire him again for any job."

"Everything went wonderfully. Ward, the owner came to collect details about the project. Joe, however, did all the work. He was excellent and very hard working. A very conscientious young man with strong skills in carpentry.
My only recommendation when working with Classic Remodeling would be that you communicate the original plan and ideas to the carpenter working on they job. A few very small details were lost in translation.
I would certainly highly recommend Classic Remodeling and we plan to use them again in the near future.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

While possible for small projects, professional designers ensure compliance with building codes and structural integrity.

Drawing your own floor plans is acceptable for many kinds of projects, including interior design and room layout. You can use floor plan software to create the plans but keep in mind that the floor plan will only be as accurate as the measurements you take and enter into the software.

Pros provide detailed quotes and efficient management, reducing overspending risks on materials and labor.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.
