The workers drove nearly 60 miles to my place, appeared precisely on time, did careful work that took exactly as long as the office predicted, were pleasant, were flexible about payment types, and provided a receipt and instructions for letting the work cure to prevent leaks. The cost precisely matched the estimate I was given when I phoned for an appointment. A good experience all around. We have not required any major repairs but have been in several times for routine service and have found the Bent Wrench people to be responsive, competent, polite, and friendly, all of which we appreciate! We do not feel pushed to do more than is necessary, and it's helpful that they have told us when it looks like something would be needed in the near future so we can plan for that work. I know the business recently had moved back into its old quarters. They seem to be short of staff, and communication between the front desk and the mechanics seems very poor. The estimate was for only one unusual job, but after telling me, "Don't call us, we'll call you," they began work on a number of additional jobs, with no notification or approval. In addition, it looks like their security has suffered; someone obviously tried to pry our gas flap open, badly gouging the finish. This morning, their polite front-desk person called to see if we'd made it home in the car. Last-minute communication and holding onto the car so long didn't help. Truly - sad about this. There is an associated quarry, and a trucking operation. While the price for the work was significantly more than we'd anticipated would be necessary, we were new to private road repair and maintenance and had to hope that the recommended work and charges were reasonable and advisable. With heavy trucks coming soon and the winter weather not yet over, we had to rely on the contractor's integrity and reputation in the community in hiring a contractor. Al seemed sincere and forthright in discussing progress and points at which it appeared to him that additional work might be worthwhile to us in the long run, and he was careful to check with us to get work okayed before proceeding. His crew was easy to work with, and we liked Al and the others. Al explained his professional suggestions but did not pressure us, and we approved work incrementally to the point that we paid four times what we had originally planned, repairing some deep holes, areas of poor drainage, and years of rough usage and neglect. It would have been better to reach a clearer understanding about our preference for a basic repair of the whole stretch of road rather than an excellent repair of first one section and then another. We thought we had managed this but in fact were in the position, like people buying house siding in the old days, of finding two sides completely finished and two only just started. Given our lack of expertise with roadwork, this was unfortunate but perhaps not surprising. We do not feel that the company was at fault in this. In the end, we do have a good solid repair of everything but the parking area in front of our house, are happy with the quality of the work, and feel confident that it will be long-lasting. We will also feel free to call Al for future work, and will be in a better position as consumers to negotiate what we truly need. At the time of this writing, Justice is charging $235 per 15-16-ton truckload (at least for a job like ours), compared with $840 for a single truckload of the same size charged by his nearest competitor, Ashe Construction, in Randle, WA. They were once the place to go for auto repair. We took our cars there for years for any repair we needed, and were always pleased. But around 2009-10 there was a change, with new repair men, and new people in the office. I had one of my mirror's knocked part off my car while at the grocery store. I went in, and they said that they didn't have the part, but would order it and call me when it was in. Over the next few months, I would call them every other week to find out that they couldn't find a mirror for my suburban. Like an idiot, I felt committed and stuck with them until they finally ordered and got in the part. They ordered two, so I'd have a matched set. I was fine with this. They also said they'd repair the holes left by the accident at the grocery store. Instead, it seems they went a different route. My guess is they didn't want my car sides to not match ... so they ripped the other mirror off the other side too, to leave matching holes in both sides of my car. The new mirrors were quite cheap too. But mostly, THEY PUT HOLES IN MY CAR DOOR. And charge me $350 to do it. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I use Eagle Auto Repair in Forks now. The job was bid. Rather than use a gas powered post hole digger the two workers dug by the holes by hand (which seemed absurd and took lots longer). The workers usually showed up at 10 and left about 3:30. The job took about 10 ten days to complete. The bid was based on a fence to match an existing fence of treated posts and rails. The rails used were cedar not treated. When the company owner was called on this he said his supplier did not offer treated rails. Had we not called the owner the fence would have not turned out to our liking.
As it were the fence boards are now on the inside of the posts/rails rather than the outside. As the boards were being put up a worker told me that because of the uneven ground the fence top would be 'notched' where some boards would be higher than others. I told him that he would have to cut the boards so that the top would be even. Bottom line: the end product was okay but we had to continually monitor in order to have an acceptable result.
An update: It was determined that the fence was build 30' inside our property line. When confronted NW Fence owner flew into a rage and said it was not his problem. Nearly one year later and with a court date approaching NW Fence and his attorney settled for a dollar amount and the complete removal of the fence. The agreement was to fill the post holes with dirt. I noticed the workers putting concrete back into the holes. When I attempted to advise the worker that was not acceptable he continued until I was nearly in his face. 1/2 of the post holes were found to contain concrete chunks. NW Fence was to come on this last Saturday to remove the concrete and fill the holes. At the appointed time we found that the concrete had already been removed. NW Fence and their attorney stated that they did not remove the concrete! I guess there must be a good elf in the neighborhood. At any rate the bottom line is that the fence is gone and the holes filled with dirt.
Let me be very clear: DO NOT HIRE NW FENCE FOR ANY REASON.

FAQs for gas fireplace repair projects in Hoquiam, WA
Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.
The cost to install a fireplace is $2,440 on average. This cost can range from $150 to $8,000 or more, depending on the type of fireplace, the materials used, and the size.
Electric fireplaces cost around $1,000 to install, and mostly only require wiring installation. In addition, gas fireplaces can cost between $2,500 and $10,000.

Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
