"Hello [Member Name Removed], We appreciate you and appreciate your Angie's List review :-) If there's ever anything we can do for you please don't hesitate to let us know. Blessings, Jeff Toth, Owner Christian Brothers Automotive, The Woodlands"
No visible evidence , grease, spilled fluids, etc. that all this work had been done. They have a very Satisfied new customer.
After calling twice throughout the day for an update, they couldn't give us one for the noise, nor did they call back. We asked twice to be called back and didn't get one.
When we came back at the end of the day about an hour before they were to close, they had only just started the work. They said the belt was the issue and needed to be replaced. We gave assent to replace the belt.
However, after the belt was replaced we immediately noticed that this did NOT take care of the original issue of the noise we wanted taken care of when inspecting the vehicle. It turns out it was a power steering problem.
So it's possible the belt may have needed replacing, but that's not what we came in for to fix. If they had taken the time and called us back to discuss the noises it might not have been a problem. But they didn't
When confronted, they offered to not charge anything at all, but that was only after some arguement. They were embarrassed in our opinion. Their arguments didn't hold much weight both of us knew in my opinion. Their only argument was that we didn't describe the noise properly....however describing sounds is obviously a subjective thing. That's why it was important they take the time to diagnose it together we said, but they wouldn't. However, we said we would pay for the lightbulb replacement because that was correct still, but wouldn't pay for the belt replacement since it wasn't what we came in for.
This was our 3rd experience at this place. Each time there was a problem during or after. We won't be going back.
Overall I have to say that they are Fair to customers....but they charge too much for bad work.
"My name is Jeff Toth, I'm the owner of Christian Brothers Automotive, The Woodlands. I have researched this report and have found that this is from a repair preformed in October 2003. At that time I was not the owner of this location but have pulled all documents pertaining to the repair. I must admit I am surprised that this complaint is just now coming to light, after almost 6 years. Our records indicate that our customers clutch was replaced and that there was one return visit almost 3 months later for a "shudder" feeling. At that time it was determined that there was a "knock" in the motor and that there was internal engine damage usually caused by not properly maintaining a vehicle that would require the repair or replacement of the engine. There was not a "shudder" detected after testing the vehicle, the issue was related to the engine knock not the transmission. Again, even though I was not the owner at the time of the repair, I am very sad to see that a negative comment about my business was placed 6 years after the fact and without so much as a phone call to me to give me a chance to re-visit the matter. I and all the employees at Christian Brothers Automotive, The Woodlands, strive to make sure that our customers are completely satisfied with the repair service we perform. If ever a customer is not I want to know so I can personally address it. I hope my reply helps to shed a little more light on this matter, however, if you, the reader, have any questions about this matter PLEASE feel free to call me to discuss it, I would be more than glad to talk to you about it. Furthermore, I look forward to discussing this with ANY and ALL Angies list subscribers who may have a questions. Please visit our web site to learn a little more about our company and our business philosophy, we really do care about our customers and their concerns and want them to be completely satisfied with us.
