"DaBella did a great job. My new roof and gutters are beautiful. Roofing crew was very diligent about protecting my dad's memorial tree in the front yard. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars overall is that I wasn't told when the gutter installers were coming and they left long, bent, gutter nails and gutter trimmings in my yard that I found with my lawnmower blade. Overall, though, this is a great company to work with. The GAF roofing system is amazing and my roof doesn't look like any other roof in my neighborhood. The special air circulation areas are very different from what many roofers do, and I get a lot of comments about them. The roofing crew was very accommodating and patiently answered my questions and concerns as they progressed through the project. They ripped off 3 layers of roofing and replaced more than half of the sheathing in one day and installed the new roof in 1 day. 2 days for a new roof is amazing. Being a first-time homeowner and this being my first major renovation on my 1978-built home, it was a lot more expensive than I ever dreamed a new roof/gutters would cost. I'm not saying they were overpriced, but that I had a bit of sticker-shock after the quote. Even so, I had a very old, sad, 3-layer roof, 2 active leaks in the attic, and absolutely worthless banged-up gutters. Sierra M was great and was the only roofing contractor to inspect my attic and took pictures of everything she found on the roof and in the attic space. She explained What was wrong with the old roof and gutters and why things needed to be done. DaBella was the only roofing company who did an inspection and took pictures. I'll definitely have them back to replace the windows a little farther down the road. :)"

"FullTime Contractor replaced seven windows in my home, and replaced a double door to the deck, with a slider. I was very pleased with the services of Jason Olinger and his field team; noteworthy: (1) informative website, (2) discovery & review meetings clearly identified options, scope, schedule, and cost; a concise Statement of Work was developed; (3) periodic 'touch-bases' informed me of visits for measurement, status of material order, materials delivery, planned installation dates, and progress reviews/updates; (4) materials delivery was smooth; (5) install was smooth, and the install team very friendly and informative; (6) quality of work was exceptional; (7) customer satisfaction inquiry was appreciated; and (8) billing was clear and simple. I highly recommend Mr. Olinger & his FullTime Contractor team and won't hesitate to call upon them again, soon!"

"My computer (Windows XP) was running very slow and had become almost inoperable. It was taking a very long time to process anything, especially anything to do with the internet. IE was taking 100% of the cpu most of the time. Jim worked on my computer remotely for several days defragging, cleaning, anti-virus, malware, etc., but could not get it to perform anywhere near where it should. We decided that I needed a new computer. Jim built me a new computer (Windows 7 with racing stripes). The new system works very well and I am pleased with it. When Jim switched my files over from old to new, the Kodak Easy-Share program with my pictures did not get transferred. He has promised to make that transfer when he installs a new door covering the DVD reader which was broken upon setup. I will update this review when this occurs. I am very pleased with the new system and would do it all over again if a similar situation were present.

"Sales process was good, courteous and helpful. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Did have a small issue with one sensor which was easily solved with a call. Control panel is easy to use and well constructed. Phone app is the best part. Not a big fan of a 2 year contract and the monthly rate feels a little high, but definitely a decent system. I had emailed them a question pertaining installing on double hung windows and never received a reply, but other than that their phone support prior to that was good."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Mulled windows are no less efficient than individual windows, provided the wall opening is the same size. Larger wall openings filled with glass will always reduce overall energy efficiency, as glass transmits heat more readily than a solid wall. If the windows that are mulled together have the same square footage as individual windows, you might actually see a small decrease in your electric bills, as mulled windows let in more natural light that can reduce interior lighting costs.

The disadvantages of putting plastic over your windows are that they are time-consuming to install and don’t always have the aesthetic that you may be looking for. The plastic is lightweight and not at all sturdy, so if you have kids or pets, the plastic can rip easily, meaning you’ll need to replace it often. It also doesn’t allow for the freedom of window movement that window film or shades offer. The single advantage that plastic window coverings have is that they are inexpensive and can be simple to install.

Yes, you can create a solution of dish soap and hot water to create a cleaning solution. You’ll want to mix about one to two drops of dish soap for every 8 ounces of hot water. If you use too much soap, it’ll create too many suds and make it harder to effectively wash away.

There are a few reasons your crank windows might not close. First, determine if your window crank is working properly and opening and closing the window when you turn it. If it’s not, the crank may need replacing, cleaning, or lubricating. Another reason your windows aren’t closing could be dirt and debris in the window hinges or sash. Finally, make sure your window lock operator is set in the unlocked position and isn’t blocking the window from fully closing. If you’re still having trouble closing your window, it may be worth consulting a local window contractor.

Glass block windows are energy-efficient because they are much thicker than traditional glass panes, making them better insulators. They are sealed airtight, which prevents drafts and stops warm or cool air from escaping, helping to save money on heating and cooling bills. Unlike traditional windows that can be opened and closed, sealed glass block windows eliminate the potential for air leaks. For proven efficiency, look for options that are Energy Star rated. The cost for energy-efficient glass block windows is typically around $400 per window, which may be higher than standard windows.
