We take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumers needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction from start to completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every customer in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.

"Matt and his company did through and quality work. We couldn't have been happier with the end result. He went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the work that was done. We had several bids and he was 1/3 of the cost the others were. But more importantly he stood behind the work he did and was a man of his word which is so hard to find. If you're struggling to find someone who is reliable and does quality work look no further. You won't be dissappointed"

We also offer fertilizing programs as well as pesticide applications, irrigation installs or repairs, pressure washing you name it we most likely do it.

"Initially, when Chip was still with the company, we had no issues. We hired them to care for the lawn work at one of our rental properties. We knew of them via my wife's sister and they performed well. We hired them to care for the lawn at the rental and the price was reasonable. We asked them to clear out a section of weeds along the lot line, which they did and sprayed the ground to kill off any remnants. That was fall of 2017. Communication with Chip & Irene was always great and prompt. 2018 rolls around and we begin service again. In May, we contact Total Grounds about spraying the weeds again, which they said they would do. They came to mow, but never sprayed. We were billed for the mow and not the spray. We called twice again about spraying and never received a call back. We weren't billed, either. On May 30th was the last time we heard from them when they mowed (and again didn't spray the weeds). By July 2nd, we figured they were never coming back again, never received a call from them....just "Poof"...they seem to have vanished. We sent them a termination notification on July 2nd and oddly enough....still have not heard from them. We know they are still in business as they still maintain the lawns as my wife's work place. Very odd way to operate a business, but...………….."

Lenz Enterprises Inc. is a family-owned sand and gravel, composting facility, and trucking company serving residential and commercial customers. Lenz Enterprises was incorporated in 1985 and began as a sand and gravel wholesaler. Situated on 140 acres in Stanwood, WA we've worked hard to expand operations and to build a reputation for providing prompt, skilled service, and for stocking a full range of quality products from gravel to topsoil to mulch. In recent years we've added many new services, including a commercial composting facility. The mission of Lenz Enterprises recycling and composting facility is to preserve and enhance the environment by providing cost effective composting of farm residuals, paunch waste from meat packing, land clearing debris, and yard/food waste from commercial and municipal customers. Recycling services include; stumps, brush, untreated wood, yard waste, food waste, sod, soil, asphalt and concrete. Theses services are beneficial to all people of Snohomish County and surrounding areas by providing alternatives to landfills. As we expand our commercial compost facility we have also undergone a re-branding of our compost products under the name GreenBlenz Compost. GreenBlenz Compost is an organic material that is an excellent soil amendment or topdressing. GreenBlenz Compost is dark brown and has a soil-like, earthy smell. We create GreenBlenz Compost by blending organic wastes such as yard trimmings, food wastes and manures in proper ratios then composting in a three-stage process: STAGE 1 Organics are composted under carefully controlled conditions using the Aerated Static Pile (ASP) Composting System. This process supports high temperatures and high oxygen levels to sanitize the material, kill weed seeds, and initially stabilize the compost. STAGE 2 - The compost is mixed, aerated and watered in a Trapezoidal Mass Bed Composting System to further stabilize the compost. STAGE 3 - The compost is cured when the active composting stage is nearing completion. Benefits of composting and compost use: Contributes to a significant reduction in waste volume that is landfilled. Supplies beneficial microorganisms to soils Increases soil organic matter Reduces or eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers. Promotes higher yields of crops. Avoids methane and leachate formulation in landfills. Reduces the need for water, fertilizers, and pesticides. Extends municipal landfill life by diverting organic materials from landfills. Is a local sustainable solution. Homeowners and contractors alike can choose from our complete line of earth products, such as gravel for driveways and paths, decorative beauty bark and mulch or our complete line of premium topsoil s

"Our landscape co picked up a couple truckloads of this mulch for our Camano Island yard project in July. It's full of mushrooms - we have a mushroom farm in our front yard - After 4 treatments of Preen and Iron granules, and raking daily - this bark is still a mess. The black bark mulch also has clear and blue glass in it, Note: the quality of this product is poor. Our neighbors in our community are not impressed. Not the first experience with Lenz products. I suggest you go elsewhere."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Hardscaping often requires preparation of the ground in the area where the feature is being installed. This can include digging, compacting, and leveling the soil, ensuring adequate drainage, and removing any existing plants. The extent of preparation needed will depend on the type and size of the hardscaping feature being installed.

When laying gravel, it's often a good idea to apply a base layer, such as sand or crushed concrete. You may also want to layer a weed-blocking membrane on top of the base layer to prevent weeds and grass from sprouting up in your gravel driveway. Without the appropriate base layer, the gravel you lay may sink into the soil.

Mulch is made from natural materials, which will break down and add nutrients to your soil for better plant and soil health, so removing old mulch is unnecessary before putting down new mulch. However, if you live in a particularly moist area, it’s possible that the old mulch will harbor fungus or mold, which can hurt plant health. If you notice these issues, you might want to consider removing the old mulch first. Otherwise, save time and money by placing new mulch right over the old mulch.

Yes, a cubic yard of dirt will fit in most standard-size pickup trucks. However, consider the truck’s payload as well as the truck bed dimensions before loading it up with dirt. Soil can be quite heavy, and if the total weight of a yard of dirt exceeds your truck’s payload capacity, you risk damaging the chassis and suspension.

While you can put gravel directly on dirt, it won’t be very stable. It also won’t block out any weeds. Most experts recommend layering weed barrier and a layer of packed sand or other foundation material to prevent the gravel from sinking into the earth and being overtaken by weeds.
