"arrived 30 min. after I called. got the job done. didn,t nickle and dime me with up charges. I will use them again if I need plumbing. I had a service call with one of the frequent media advertised plumbing companies. That company messed up the appointment I thought I made the night before and wound up waiting 7 -8 hours for them to show up. The repair wound up being the equivalent of replacing a washer on an outside hose bib. 10 min of actual work cost over $400. Lions had to pull the toilet to clear the main drain clog. The main cleanout was under a crawlspace and there was not enough room to get equipment in. When he went outside to try to find a space to install an outside cleanout, we found one buried under a foot of topsoil. he dug the area out and extended the pipe upwards and put a cover on it that was marked Sewer. "I sent and e-mail with a description of the problems and photos of the kitchen faucet and hose assembly to [email protected] on Labor Day afternoon hoping we would get a call to schedule the appointment the next morning. When I didn't get a call by 11am, I called their contact number 253-457-8440. They were not aware of the e-mail I had sent. They said the dispatch person would call in the next 15-20 minutes. The dispatch person called and we scheduled an appointment for three days out. She also was not aware of the e-mail I had sent but noted it and I re-described the problems. I didn't know the faucet brand so I told her to look at the pictures I had sent her. She took all my contact information, made sure I was able to print my Angie's list coupon, said there was a $59 fee to show up, and asked how I was going to pay for the service. The technician showed up and he hadn't seen the e-mail and pictures so we had to start from scratch. He later mentioned that he had brought it up in their morning briefing and the owner said he would try and find it, but evidently wasn't able to. The plumber had no suitable hose or kitchen faucet on his truck to fix the leak. He adjusted the toilet in 5 minutes and once he picked up a faucet it took him 55 minutes to install it. I've always been a fan of having the people best able to do a job doing that job. The plumber is not the best person to go searching for a faucet. We identified one in his catalog that was acceptable, but turned out to be a special order and settled for what was in stock at Lowes. Identifying, finding and picking up a stock faucet that should have been on his truck, as a contingency for the appointment, took 80 minutes plumber time. The faucet was installed to our satisfaction and the toilet adjusted. So technically everything was satisfactory and we hare happy with the job that was done. The supplier flat rates their jobs depending on complexity and cost of materials This faucet installation cost about 50% more than a similar one we had done in Seattle two years ago on a time and materials basis. If they could get their business process act together and be more efficient, they could probably save their plumbers a lot of hassle from customers, schedule at least an extra appointment a day per plumber (5 instead of 4) lowering customer wait times for a standard appointment from probably 3 days to 2 days, make more money by either cutting their appointment times in half and charging the same flat rate or lowering their price and increasing their business volume, and generally make customers feel that they are receiving value for their money spent. Plumbing has been around for 3000 years and e-mail only for about 30 so it's easy to understand that adapting to new technology takes time, so for right now I wouldn't use the above e-mail address. Call and explain your problem, spell out your expectations for what you expect the plumber to have on their truck for your appointment, text any pictures directly to the owner's cell phone, and above all don't blame the plumber who shows up for the deficiencies in the company's business process. Picking up a fixture from a place that accepts easy returns, as a hedge, is another idea. but you won't get the 30 day installation warranty."

"The arriving technician was cordial in dealing with me. In this period of the pandemic, he observed health protocols diligently. However, he was not as knowledgeable as he should have been regarding the subject of toilets. Cutting to the short of it, after charging me the $230 for the service call of using the 6-foot toilet snake and not addressing the performance of the toilet, I found the problem inside the reservoir tank, which he had examined. He seemed more intent on selling me a new toilet installation than he did at providing a fix."

"Pipers contacted us by phone immediately after we submitted a repair request on Labor Day late morning for a clogged sewer line. We set up an appointment for early evening, at which time I mentioned we had intended to celebrate family birthdays that evening. About an hour later Pipers called and said they adjusted their schedule so they could arrive mid-afternoon, which they did. The back-up was cleared and we were so grateful to be able to join our family that evening. Pipers had to remove and reinstall the basement toilet. They cleaned up the area after the work was completed (the bathroom looked better than when they arrived). A great ending to what was a not so great beginning to Labor Day. We will definitely use Pipers for the more extensive work that needs to be done."
