We have been building all phases of construction for over 35 years here in the Spokane area. Building several of our own homes from the ground out. About 15 years ago my wife and I decided to start our own construction company and have been doing all variety of projects, from new builds to remodel. We are happy to do small projects. We currently are wanting to focus on interior finishes such as kitchen and bathroom remodeling, painting, trim, door and window replacements and home repairs. "Ken is AWESOME! He was the Only one who responded to my need. It was Thanksgiving day and my kitten had already spent a day and a night stuck high in a tree and afraid to get back down. It was such a cold night I couldnt have her go through another! And thats exactly what Ken said too when he read my need. He was at my house within 30 minutes Thanksgiving day. He was sharing it with his loved ones at the time I messaged him so he let me know he would say his goodbyes and be on his way. He showed up, ready to rescue and I was so happy to see him! I really didnt know what I would have done otherwise! He is such a good hearted man, making sure he had a treat for the kitten when he got to her and then putting her inside his coat, for warmth, as he climbed down the ladder. It is generally safe to stay in a house with sewer gas for a short time, even though short-term exposure is unpleasant. However, prolonged inhalation can cause headaches, nausea, or respiratory irritation. High levels of methane—which is in sewer gas—can pose an explosion risk in enclosed spaces. Ventilate the area and call a pro if you smell sewer gas or experience related health symptoms.

If the toilet is overflowing but there’s no clog, that’s a sign that the issue is deeper in the system, and plunging may not help. A blockage in your home’s plumbing, the plumbing vent, or even city sewer lines can cause toilets to overflow. The issue could also be the toilet itself if the filler float isn’t set to the correct height or if parts are damaged or worn out.

Modern septic tanks have two lids: one that covers the inlet where wastewater flows into the tank and one that covers the outlet where the treated water flows out to the drain field. However, older septic tanks installed before 1975 may have only one lid. Because septic tanks last 20 to 40 years, if yours only has one lid, it may be time for a replacement.

The best thing to unclog a septic tank is a mechanical auger, especially if the clog is far down the line or particularly dense. You can also clear a clog in a septic line with a wooden pole or steel rod. Be sure to follow safety precautions when working in a septic tank, including wearing heavy-duty work gloves, goggles, and a gas mask.
