"Harold and his crew did an amazing job. H&M gave us the lowest bid on removing three large evergreens trees. The high bid was 3 times what Harold's quote was! Harold and his crew were prompt, professional, considerate and went way above and beyond our expectations. Thank you H&M!"

"My giant cherry tree fell over at 5pm and I called Brian for emergency tree removal. The next morning, he had a crew out to chop down and chip the tree. He then came out with the stump grinder and took care of the rest. It was all done by 1:00pm!! I cannot recommend Sound Stump more highly. I was in a situation where the rest of the tree could have fallen and done serious damage to property. Brian saved the day; the arborists were incredibly kind, conscientious, and helpful, which I especially appreciated in an emergency. This is an exemplary company. Thank you, Brian!"

"Your team did an outstanding job from start to finish, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the moment I contacted your company, your staff was professional and helpful. They provided me with all the information I needed to make an informed decision, including a detailed quote and a clear explanation of the work that would be required. They were also very patient and understanding, answering all of my questions and addressing any concerns I had. The day of the tree removal, your team arrived promptly and worked efficiently to get the job done quickly and safely. They took great care to ensure that no damage was done to my property, and they left everything clean and tidy when they were finished. I was particularly impressed by the skill and expertise of your tree care professionals. They clearly knew exactly what they were doing and took great care to ensure that the tree was removed safely and with minimal disruption to my property. Watching them work was truly a sight to behold, and I felt confident throughout the entire process that my property was in good hands. Overall, I am extremely grateful for the exceptional service I received from Welle Tree Care. Your team went above and beyond to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the work, and I will not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone in need of tree care services in the future. Thank you once again, I truly appreciate it."

"The tree was protected so he couldn't cut all of it down, even though most of it was dead. So he climbed it and cut off the dead parts that were threatening to fall on my house. He then cleaned up the mess.
I also had hired him to trim another tree the year before and that went well also.

"They did a real good job. They were real professional. We can now open the garage door from the inside of the house and now it is so smooth that we have to check to see if we hit the button to open it or close it.  Before we used to know when it was opening or closing because it used to make a noise. It helps when you move to a city where you are new. "

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A tree growing close to a house can pose several risks, but removal isn't always the only or best solution. Potential problems include roots growing into the foundation and causing structural cracks, branches damaging the roof or promoting moss growth, and debris clogging gutters, which can lead to water damage. Trees can also provide access for pests and encourage mold. However, a small, healthy tree may not be a problem, and for larger, established trees, strategic trimming can be a cheaper and more beneficial alternative to removal. It is generally recommended to take action for trees within 10 to 20 feet of your home, especially if they are unhealthy or encroaching. Your best bet is to consult a professional arborist who can assess the specific situation and provide expert advice.

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.

A grafted tree is a tree grown by combining two trees. It takes expertise. Branches from grafted trees don’t grow strong roots. Save yourself the time and frustration by having an arborist help you with this advanced project.

You can often tell if a tree is grafted because it will have a noticeable line. Above the line, the bark will look different than it does below the line. It’s most common with fruit trees.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

Trimming a tree can take anywhere from just two hours to a full day, depending on the age of the tree, the number of trees, and the species. Young trees are generally easier to trim, as their branches are often thinner in diameter and easier to reach compared to mature trees. They also tend to be healthier. If you haven’t trimmed your trees before or it’s been a while, the process could take even longer.
