"Paul, the owner, was terrific. I needed to replace a rotting wooden rear entry door with a new ThermaTru fiberglass door. I also wanted to add a storm door to the same entry. Paul came over and inspected the site and we ordered both doors in late December of 2021. The doors arrived several months later and Paul came out for the installation. He was great. He was clearly a meticulous and experienced professional who knew his stuff perfectly. After several hours he had completed the installation of both doors. They look and work great. Paul also cleaned up the interior and exterior areas where he worked and everything was immaculate after he left. Can't of better than Washington Door Service,"

"This is the 2nd time we have had Bel Red install windows in our home. The service is fantastic and they leave the house looking finished not like the job was half done.. We love the windows and the installers were great. Very quick thorough and customer friendly. A pleasure to do business with Zach and company. Their prices are very reasonable as well."

"I LOVE MOSS COMPANY! When we got to Eric, we had already gone through 3 other door contractors (home depot, lowes, and lowes again). All the prior contractors came in to measure our front door and we never heard from them again. We are new the area so we didn't have many recommendations to go by, but I came across Eric's company online and read the reviews, called and hoped he would give us the same type of service as described from others. He did not disappoint! He was so attentive to us (most of our other contractors only spoke to us for 3 mins), looked over our door situation, described what type of services we'd be needing, and was honest about his prices. His team that came in to put our front door was awesome, cleaned up after, and did an amazing job with the door setup. Wendy (who handles the admin) is so persistent, friendly, and clear with communicating about the order and payment process. My partner and I are so happy with the service and so grateful to have found Moss Company! The front door really made my day - we are new homeowners and it's been so hard to find good contractors. I strongly recommend Moss Company as someone you can rely in the longer term as a homeowner :) Thanks so much guys!"

Small jobs welcome

"We needed a custom (person) door installed into our garage, replacing an existing window. Lake Washington Winows & Doors did an in-person estimate, sent a second person to take measurements, and sent an install crew. The install crew (Crisanto, Johan, and Moises) were magicians with how the cut out the old window, framed the door, and installed the new custom door. They finished quicker than estimated and clean up before they left. They spent extra time detailing the outside framing and weather proofing of the install. We are very happy with how professional, accurate, and timely they performed the job. We'd definitely hire them again."

"The installers showed up on time to install 5 windows and a front door. The windows were installed quickly with no problems. However, this house was built in the 40's so it wasn't a normal job to install the front door. The technicians had to rebuild the door framing in order to install the door. They accomplished this all on the same day and it looks and works perfectly! All technicians were knowledgeable, friendly, and hard working. I'm very happy with what they accomplished!"

"I would highly recommended WCV windows. The 2 man crew that installed 9 new vinyl windows including a sliding door did an excellent job in just a day! We were amazed by how their attention to detail gave us beautiful looking looking windows inside and out. Allso, we're staying much warmer and have much less outside noise coming in. A job well done in very friendly professional manner."

Customers say: Super punctual

"

I was looking for contractor who did quality work and a reasonable price. I brought my search to Angie's List and found Jack from Jack of All Trades. Jack was incredible. He was very reasonably priced and very flexible with the schedule. I would use Jack again in the future for all my home renovation needs.

I was very very impressed.

"Ray at Urban Woodworks replaced every interior door and door jamb in our home with beautiful, high-quality, freshly painted replacements, and the transformation is incredible. He also installed new baseboard trim throughout the house, perfectly matching the new doors and giving our home a fresh, updated look. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding, his pricing was very competitive, and he was dependable from start to finish. Ray was also a pleasure to work with. He was professional, easygoing, and committed to making sure everything turned out exactly as we envisioned. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend Urban Woodworks!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, a variety of screen materials cut out glare from the sun. Solar screen material can block up to 90% of the glare and heat from the sun, saving on cooling costs. It also offers privacy yet unlimited outward visibility. The cost depends on the size of the screen roll, but solar screens cost between $25 and $90 per roll.

Window screens can take anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour to replace, depending on the complexity of the replacement and the accessibility of the window. Replacing the screen inside an existing frame normally takes longer than replacing an entire screen, frame and all, if you purchase a prefabricated screen already mounted on the frame.

Yes, adding windows adds value to a brick house. Homeowners don’t shy away from more natural light and an opportunity to get fresh air. Adding a window is particularly beneficial if you live in an area with good weather for much of the year or if your home has a nice view. Keep in mind that many older brick homes have historic wood windows that add to the charm of the house. When you install a new window in a brick house, you’ll want to find one that matches the aesthetic of the existing windows.

While windows increase a home’s value, how much they increase it can vary. It depends on the age of the home and the type of windows. You can expect about 70% to 85% return on investment (ROI) when adding a window to your home.

Screen repair is always worthwhile, as tears and holes in your windows and door screens are unsightly and allow pests and debris into your home, rendering the screen useless. The faster you repair your screens, the faster you can open your windows and doors freely to let the fresh air in. Consider repairing multiple door and window screens during one appointment with a screen repair technician to make the investment and labor costs worth it.

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.

The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.
