Three or 4 inches of smooth sand or soil is the ideal surface to go under an aboveground pool.

You can check if your pool is bonded by looking for a copper wire that connects to the motor and pumps and then extends into the ground. However, if you’re unfamiliar with electrical wiring, contacting a pool electrician to inspect the motor and pumps is safest. An electrician can check the system and determine if it is up to code and meets all swimming pool bonding requirements.

The cost to maintain a pool depends on its size and condition. A one-time pool cleaning session costs around $250, and regular weekly maintenance costs $25 to $40 per week. You can get a discount if you buy services in bulk. Regular pool maintenance helps limit the number of repairs and identify signs of trouble.
