"Ryan was very prompt and detailed with providing us an estimate for a full kitchen remodel. He was very professional and was on par with the other contractor. Ultimately we chose the other contractor only because he came recommended from a friend. We would be very happy to recommend Ryan as a contractor and would not hesitate to hire him in the future !"

"Great crew. They listened, but were a little disbelieving when I told them that it was going to cost more and take longer. With the experience I've had working on projects throughout my home, this happened every single time. I just laughed. The project manager did help me with saving on a project we were going to do, but hadn't decided on yet. Thanks to a tariff, we were able to get it done for a much more affordable price. We had 3 projects done by them. New furnace, kitchen remodel, and crown molding and baseboards installation."

"It took us time to find a contractor. We got over Six quotes only two contractors actually sent us a bid. Ben was very responsive. He sent us the quote within a week from the visit. We were very satisfied with the process. We were always in the know. We have done renovations In the past with contractors and we were always not pleased with not knowing the schedule. "Ward came out and did an estimate.  Following the estimate, he drew up the plans for the space.  They got permits from the City which took three months.  Once the permit was received they started the work.  Joe was our Project Manager and our head Carpenter was Rob.  The majority of the time Rob and Andrew were the two who worked on the addition.  The people who were working on our home were very nice and easy to work with and we felt we could communicate well with everyone. We appreciated that there were not a lot of different people in our home.  The strength of this company is the quality they deliver and the people working for them. The project took longer than expected, but it is an extremely busy time right now in the construction business.  We are very happy with the results, and love our new space!  We would work with this company again.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.

The primary parts of a house that need framing during construction are floors, exterior walls, interior walls, and the roof. The framing in these areas provides the skeleton for adding other materials over the top. With walls, for example, contractors can hang drywall over the interior walls and siding over the outside of the exterior walls. Proper framing ensures a sturdy house that is built to last.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.
