"I called and left messages with 5 of the contractors 'HomeAdvisor' suggested.  NONE of them returned my call.  I made 2 appointments for meetings/estimates on their website and nobody got back to me.  I called one contractor again and got him on the line.  He said he was just about to referee a basketball game and said he didn't have time to talk to me.  I also left a message on his voice mail and he never returned the call.  I called another contractor who said he was busy and would call me later.  I never heard from him either.
The up-shot was, I went to Angie's list, paid a $7 annual membership fee and they had a fence repair 'special' for $360.00.  I paid the amount with PayPal, never even saw the contractor who came to the property a day later and fixed the 40 feet of fence that the wind knocked down.  He and his staff did a beautiful job, left the site clean and put in 5 new posts with cement. The fence line was straight 'as an arrow.'  All for $360.00!  
I spent a couple hours on HomeAdvisor's contractors with phone calls, describing the damage on-line and keeping a log of all the people I talked to/left messages for. A lot of work!  Angie's did it all with one e-mail! I gave HomeAdvisors more than a fighting chance and got nowhere!  Angie's list rules!!!!"

"Prompt Inspection and quote, very friendly. Did excellent job of cleaning and repairing terracotta roof, replaced broken tiles, fix concrete bedding and re pointed titles. Cleanup around the house and water blasted windows. Excellent job A+"

"Hector came promptly to see what was needed to repair an overall bad job done two years earlier when a guy replaced our large deck with cable railing. Hector was clear and knowledgeable about what was amiss and how to fix it. Our deck was not tight or square. Hector listened to what we hoped could be improved, examined the situation himself and stated what he and his crew could do to get our deck back in good shape. We had his written quote within hours and then waited for other professionals to bid. Two different men came out and looked thoroughly at our deck and declined to bid. They did not seem to know what to do! Hector did. Within a few days after us accepting his bid Hector and crew came out, worked long and hard and two days later our deck is beautiful and sound. I could not be more pleased. Hectors bid seemed medium high to me but the good job ended up super worth it. I absolutely recommend this company."

"I have a split-level house, and my deck is on the 2nd story. I didn't want to deal with building one myself, so I decided to hire a contractor. I found PlanTrak on HomeAdvisor, and am glad I did. I hired them to build me a fairly simple 12' x 16' deck, and they did not disappoint. Dave came out in February to give me an estimate of what the job would cost. I had several contractors provide estimates, and PlanTrak's was in the middle. I chose PlanTrak because Dave was very knowledgeable and personable. He answered all my questions competently and ensured me my requests would be completed. We scheduled to start construction at the beginning of May. These guys are busy, and they didn't actually start until May 13. It wasn't a problem for me, honestly. I wasn't bound by any time constraints, and delays are not uncommon when it comes to hiring contractors, especially when you book so far out. Justin and Roman(?) actually performed the work, and it only took them 5 days to demo and haul away my old deck and build and finish the new deck, including a Saturday. They were very polite, and performed their work competently, and the finish is excellent. The materials they chose were top notch - my cedar decking is premium quality, and beautiful. After the work was complete, Dave came out and did a walkthrough with me to make sure I was satisfied. I only pointed out a couple small things from the demo, and Dave quickly took care of them without issue. I was 100% satisfied when he left. As a homeowner, I'm really grateful for contractors with PlanTrak's integrity and professionalism. My family and I have been enjoying our new deck daily since it was built. This is definitely a decision I'm happy to have made. I'm seriously considering using PlanTrak to build me a permanent awning in the future."

"Norberto asked a lot of pictures and information before coming out to look at the job site. However, he misdiagnosed the issue and gave an exuberant quote which was 3 times higher than others. He never provided detals work in writing when he was asked to submitted one. Its probably because he is not very knowledgeable in irrigation repair and thus not comfortable to take on the work. We appreciated he came out for estimate anyway."
