"Their roof repair services go beyond any industry standards. Having to deal with many contractors, we as property management company have found peace of mind when it comes to such services. Ari and Elijah is exceptional and efficient. They have helped several times to fix many of roof leaks in the building we manage. We always thank their hard work."

"This was a big project involving multiple people, my main indoor crew was Chris, Dakota and Brady. ( Brian came one day) The primary outdoor crew was George and Isaac with Devon coming a couple times. There were many more staff and managers that participated as well. I apologize there are a couple names I don’t remember since I only met them once. Rhi was my main contact by telephone. I will first acknowledge that when any contractors are working at your home even under the best circumstances there’s typically a few things that are unexpected and minor damage comes with the territory I’ve learned over the years. Having gotten that out of the way I give Seatown a solid five stars!!! The crew respected my home and protected it as best they could during a large scope of work. I have used Seatown in the past and decided to use them for the scope of work this time even though they are not the cheapest… based on reviews from multiple websites including Angie’s List. They guarantee their labor for a lifetime. (Manager Clay Advised me on that)! WOW!! These guys are so professional, so patient and willing to do whatever they can to please the homeowner (while of course doing everything correctly and to code). If I wasn’t pleased with something -which didn’t happen often- they redid it until I was giving a thumbs up. I know long reviews can get cumbersome but I want to stress, The updates you get on your job by text and email, The way the guys protect your home and clean up every evening, The way the young guys are a testimony to their profession- i’ve honestly never come across such knowledgeable, detailed, professional young men in the trades. Seatown should be very proud of their apprentices !! Here’s an example of exemplary customer service : accidentally my irrigation system was broken during installation of new water service. I’d like to mention Isaac and Clay who didn’t stop updating me until the irrigation system was fixed and up and running beautifully. The guys often told me “if we damage something that’s on us and we will fix it.” They proved that even when mistakes happen they will make it right. I could tell you specific stories but I think if you’re reading this you just want to know if you should hire Seatown - YES, you absolutely should -with confidence!"

"I had a LOT of questions and Ryan, the owner, responded quickly to each email. The work crew were all polite, quiet, and all-around good people. The price was reasonable compared to comps, and the job was finished when they said it would be. We've had some torrential rains since and not a drop has gotten into my basement!"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Below-ground shelters are the best in terms of durability, but there is a risk of flooding and obstruction. Modern technology and rigorous construction requirements make above-ground shelters a better option for accessibility, safety, and, usually, your budget. They may not have the same aesthetic appeal, but many of their features make above-ground shelters a better option.

Covering the dirt floor in your crawl space with a vapor barrier helps insulate the space and improve the air quality in your home. It protects your crawl space from pest infestations, excess moisture, and mold growth. It also makes the crawl space less dusty, which means there’s a lower chance of dust mites breeding and causing allergic reactions in your home.

Standing water under your house can threaten its structural integrity. If water pools in your crawl space, it can damage the foundation and the structure above ground, causing wood rot, mold, and other problems. If you have a concrete foundation, standing water under your house can also make your foundation slabs crack.

Yes, it is possible to over-dehumidify a house by removing too much moisture from the air. This can create an overly dry environment that negatively affects those with respiratory or skin issues, and may cause your skin, hair, and sinuses to feel dry. However, this is unlikely to happen with most modern dehumidifiers, as they are equipped with moisture sensors and adjustable settings. These features allow the unit to pause automatically when the desired humidity level is reached, preventing the air from becoming uncomfortably dry. In contrast, older or more basic dehumidifiers left running for too long could potentially over-dry the air. To avoid this, aim for a balance between removing excess moisture and maintaining a comfortable environment. You can often monitor your home's humidity levels using a modern thermostat for guidance.

The primary reason homes have crawl spaces is so the foundation can reach down below the frost line to avoid dangerous soil movement and structural damage when the ground freezes. They’re more popular in colder climates where the ground freezes down to a few feet, and slabs are most popular in warmer areas where there is no frost line. Crawl spaces also provide a space for utility lines to run where they’re at less of a risk of freezing.
