"The actual job was to replace a strip of the concrete foundation and the interior/exterior wall adjoining the foundation. Cory was very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done. He replaced the foundation and the wall in the most efficient and affordable way and his work looks great. I would highly recommend hiring Cory for his honesty and his good work ethic."

"We absolutely recommend Heinemann Construction! Our job involved finishing a basement and remodeling a master bath, as well as some add-ons that extended the scope of the project. Jeff Heinemann, business owner/contractor, was a true professional throughout the two-month project. He provided a detailed quote at the outset that set his services apart from the competition (4 bids). Once we accepted Heinemann’s bid, work was started far sooner than anticipated. The invoice was updated throughout the job, assuring that there were no surprises in terms of cost, time, or design. Jeff stayed in near-daily contact by phone, email, and text. He provided thoughtful updates, described options when called for to help us stay in control of the process, and offered appropriate advice when the inevitable “unexpecteds” came up. Heinemann’s crew (John, David, and Mathew) earned special appreciation as they were courteous, professional, friendly, and responsive to our needs throughout the job, earning our trust by working hard every day, attending to all the details, and making sure the finished product surpassed what we’d hoped for. Top-notch subcontractors (engineering, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, chimney, flooring, cabinetry) were used to make sure the job was done right. We love the finished products: an amazing new master bathroom, and a wholly finished and comfortable basement living space that add value and “livability” to our home. We appreciate the skill and value of Heinemann Construction’s work every day."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.

Services include creating technical drawings, floor plans, and 3D renderings for construction or renovation projects.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.
