"Rick's crew did a marvelous job.  After having four other companies come out and give us bids on fixing our "lagoon" in the backyard, Four Aces came up with the most logical, simplest solution for the best price.  Their solution was to install four actual drains in the yard and connect them with the drainage pipe leading to the storm sewer. It was a no brainer.  They were easy to schedule and they completed the work in half the time we expected it to take.  They were even considerate enough to work the loud stuff around my baby's nap schedule.  They had warned us that they were probably not going to be able to completely restore the lawn and landscaping, but after they were done...it looked better than before.  (I'm pretty sure someone weeded a little.)  This was still a big household project for a family on a budget, but we were so excited to see that the water did in fact drain down after the first big rainstorm.  Now every time it rains, I truly enjoy going into the backyard and seeing that the "lagoon" is gone.  They completely solved our issue."

"We found Dirt Pros by chance when driving past a local project that they were doing. We were gathering bids and thought we'd give them the chance to bid. Eric was extremely responsive and arrived at the scheduled time. He was thorough in his questioning and had a bid back to us in less than 48 hours. Time we spent with Eric during this process made us really want to use him. When we saw his bid, we felt we had the right person for this job. Eric was the only contractor to press on getting a permit for the sewer work and we are glad that he did. It really gives us peace of mind. We gave Eric a deposit, which made us nervous, but he arrived as scheduled, had his equipment with him, and began to work at an incredible pace. We became immediately confident that he would do a great job. Eric arranged all the materials, equipment, got the permits, knew the City of Seattle inspector (which was obvious during the very quick inspection), and did not cut any corners. I work from my house, so was able to watch most of the work that Dirt Pros did in my back yard. Even though he know I was there, he didn't need to bother me with unnecessary questions. He just got the job done. My wife is extremely fussy about quality of work, so at the end of each day I was nervous that she might find faults that I didn't see. Instead of concerns, she was ecstatic with the daily progress. The accomodating, easy mannerism made it clear to both of us that this was our project, not his. He made it clear that our satisfaction was his goal. Erik's communication using email in the evenings to keep us informed was a tremendous help. I have 438 unread emails in my inbox. There is no way that I would have taken this time to pay for the Angie's List service and write this recommendation unless Dirt Pros had gone over the top to make the job enjoyable at a cost that seems very fair. I can't recommend them high enough. Shoot, my wife has even called people to tell them about Dirt Pros. Eric is solid!"

"We had a drain leak in a wall that caused damage to our house. Because it was dirty drain water, everything it touched (ceilings, floors, walls, trim, insulation) had to be removed and disposed of. After the water mitigation and decontamination was complete, we needed to repair/restore the damaged areas. Andrew came highly recommended from the water mitigation company, so we had high expectations and were not disappointed. He was easy to work with, responsive, patient, flexible with our schedule, and very accommodating for some special things we wanted done. The price was reasonable and quality of the work was outstanding. He coordinated everything with our insurance company so that the whole experience was hassle-free. We really appreciated his attention to detail, his care to ensure that surrounding areas were protected during the work, and that he made sure everything got put back correctly. Everything is now nicer than it was before the damage. We would absolutely hire him again--we wouldn't trust anyone else to do this sort of work on our house."

"Perms-Dry did an outstanding job. They explained the work to be done in detail, arrived on time, completed the work in one day. Their workers professional and did a great job of cleaning up once the work was complete. I have seen no signs of water issues since they installed the system"

"

We are repeat customers and have worked with Overlake Heating & Air Conditioning for regular annual furnace inspections and a duct cleaning. We have been pleased every time and this time was no different.

I met with Rob on Monday (3/9). He was responsive and gave helpful information about the options available for air conditioner units and the process for getting one installed. He got us an installation appointment for the very next day.

The installers arrived at the promised time the next day and worked diligently for about 6.5 hours, into the early evening. They were positive, friendly, and patient about answering our questions. Their workmanship was high quality and they explained what would happen on day two of the installation. Before leaving they thoroughly cleaned the garage where they were working.

The second day of installation was today (3/13). An electrician (Linder Electric) and an Overlake service technician came out to finish the installation. We weren't here when they performed the work, but again the end results all looked clean, nice, and organized.

The Overlake scheduler and office staff are excellent about communicating updates. We appreciate the responsiveness, reliability, expertise, and professionalism of all of the Overlake staff and definitely recommend them.

"Right before Thanksgiving we detected a leak from our upstairs toilet between our floors; and our dishwasher died. I contacted AWP through their web site; the response and scheduling were prompt. Vlad showed up on time, listened, understood the issue, explained what he was going to do then carefully fixed it. Later that day, the Home Depot crew came in to install our new dishwasher and could not complete the job. Vlad was back later that day - on a Friday - and took charge. As calm and unflappable as the first time he took care of doing everything just right. I would definitely hire AWP again. Very few professionals I have dealt with project and deliver such peace of mind."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.
