In addition to being competent, Jared makes himself available to provide personal 1-on-1 training over the internet, which has been a huge blessing to our company and clients."

After speaking with Char once we knew we were in good hands. Her communication was perfect. We would have weekly updates to go over the process and discuss any changes or recommendations. We were on a tight budget for the building costs, so when we found a contractor that we enjoyed, they were able to understand and calculate an accurate estimate from her drawings that were within our budget. She was able to get all the permitting for the additions from the City of Burien within 3 weeks with no redactions. We would hire her again, as matter of a fact, we did hire her for another build/design, Immediately after designing the house additions, but we just ran out of money for that build. "Rodrigo & team have been providing gardening services for me for a decade now, on a relatively small scale. I'd hired a residential designer to craft a design for a backyard living space, and Rodrigo was my first thought for putting it into action. The team excavated/leveled the space for a flagstone patio and a to-be-installed gazebo. So much care was taken to prep the space, make the ground level, and follow the measurements. They laid the flagstone beautifully. They also built a retaining wall, providing some much-needed planting space. Finally, they laid down new grass, weed-blocker, and wood chips, providing the foundation for me to go crazy at nurseries this summer. I have a few friends who are very experienced with construction, etc., and they all have made special note of how the quality of this work. Note: this was NOT an easy feat from a labor, as 3-4 tons of materials had to be hauled by hand/wheelbarrow from my driveway to the back. I appreciate that they're still talking to me!"

"No words can describe how exceptional Julia and Stone are at their work. My husband and I wanted to build a bathroom and we needed their help with getting the construction permit. And since we never tackled such a big home renovation project, we initially really did not know how much we would need them (turns out, yes, we needed them very much and we are just so lucky to have them onboard). Not only did they research extensively into the building codes (including calling the city to sort out any confusions) but they poured so much thought into the design of our bathroom so that it made the most efficient use of space (I love their design). Their detailed drawings also make it easy for our contractor to know what to do, so we don't need to worry about the layout and we know exactly what should be happening with the construction. In addition, they also work with us during the construction process (e.g. to address problems with inspections) and are extremely efficient with getting things done competently and as fast as possible. As someone who always finds things to worry about, working with Julia and Stone has been a pleasantly worry-free process. As we've recently moved to Seattle and are building up a repertoire of trustworthy businesses for home-related things, Refine Design is most definitely a business that we will go back to in the future, and one that we strongly recommend without reservation for anyone looking for good architectural services."
