"I had my sump pump replaced. Blaine explained all my options. I decided to have him replace the pump, install a deeper pit, replace and pipe the discharge line and tie it into my gutter downspout. He and his co-worker arrived right on time. They were friendly, polite and made sure to explain all the work that they were doing. He made sure that the pump operation could not be heard from inside the house. I highly recommend Seatown and plumber Blaine in particular"

"We had a damp crawlspace. John's installed drainage with sump pumps (lead and backup with battery backup power) and encapsulated the dirt with 20 mil plastic. They also installed PU foam around the perimeter foundation walls to complete the insulation envelope of the house and a dehumidifier top keep the crawlspace area dry. In short, this work solved the problem we had and provided the added benefits of a more energy efficient and comfortable house due to the insulation as well as better indoor air quality. The work was done in four days and at considerably less cost than a competing contractor bid to do it. Another person that we had inspecting house later looked at the crawlspace and commented, "Wow! You could do brain surgery down here." We actually wouldn't recommend that though ;)"

"Milo was very friendly and accommodating. I hired him to do annual maintenance on my tankless water system as well as flush it out. He discovered that the pump run constantly and that shouldn’t be happening. The result is my house is always 80° if I keep it plugged in so I always keep it unplugged. He diagnosed that the pump needs to be replaced but wasn’t absolutely positive if that would solve my heating problem. He’s supposed to be getting me a bid on replacing the pump, but I haven’t heard back from him. I would probably hire him again."

"I hired George based on great client reviews and because he cleaned the work area each day before leaving. It wasn?t really about the tidiness but the professionalism and character of someone that is conscientious about his work and respectful to his clients environments that made me think that he was probably a very good craftsman.
George installed a beautiful new bathroom.
The old (peach or salmon colored?) bathtub was replaced with a walk-in shower with marble floor tiles, a beautiful sliding glass shower door, and the shower walls were tiled to the ceiling.
It was the first time he installed this particular shower door style, but he was very meticulous and it looks great.
He pays attention to visual detail as well as the functionality of the structure.
He did everything from replacing the floor with porcelain tile, installed baseboard/wainscotting/chair rail tiles,
installed and made necessary adjustments to the new vanity so it would work with the existing plumbing, and also adjusted the electrical outlet location
George is a one man shop with a main concentration in remodeling, but as luck would have it, he can also work with project related electrical and plumbing issues which makes the entire job go so much smoother (and faster!). He communicates any issues ahead of time so there aren?t any unexpected surprises.
All in all good guy, personable, and professional.

"Spoke with Jeff who got me what I needed and got the install done right away with no issues. Other plumbers and companies like lowes and home depot either quoted much higher or 2-5 week lead times for my type of water heater or they bid with unreliable water heater brands. Washington Sewer & Pipe LLC got me a great product, installed fast and professionally and at a great price. They save our Christmas season! Highly recommended!!"

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

Costs range from $300 to $1,200, depending on the pump type, issue, and installation complexity.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

If your sump pump isn’t engaging, it might be clogged with dirt and debris. Check to see if the fitting lid is loose and has been letting debris in. Next, check the float and make sure it’s not obstructed by rust or gunk, which results from insufficient maintenance. Tangled wires or damaged switching systems can also stop your sump pump from engaging.
