Customers say: True professional

"I highly recommend Rich with Creative Drywall and will definitely be using his services again on my next drywall project. The project was only about 75 sheets but had many windows and skylights. Richardâ  s expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail is what really pushed our home to the next level. He was very punctual and was even willing to give us a small patching tutorial. I never knew how much effort and skill went into drywalling until I saw him work. 10/10 service and worth the money."

"I was very happy that I have chosen Near Me Roofing Company for my roof restoration job. The job was done as per quoted with no spills and thrills and now I don't have to worry about a leaking roof. The price was reasonable for the quality of the repairs and fixes completed. Thank you Elijah and the team for the great roof restoration work."

"Dead Level was the first to answer the request for quote. Mr. Trevor was the first to offer coming out to the property to see project prior quoting. He showed up on time, every time. Mr. Trevor kept us informed throughout the project. We explained the level of need and Dead Level was able to work with our schedules and made it happen. The work him and his team completed was above and beyond. The spectrum of the project increased and they were able to adapt. Providing drywall patching to trim work and painting. Would 100% hire Dead Level again. Owner, Mr. Trevor and his team were upfront, honest, timely and hard-working. Much of the project had to be completed as we were out of town. We were well informed the entire time and honestly had less stress because of him and his team."

"This company has done more than just my bathroom. They also built an overhang from my carport to front door, fix a hot water heater (saved me hundreds by not having to purchase new one), worked on my garbage disposal. They are efficient, punctual, and if there are issues that require more than contracted for, they call and talk it over with you."

"We are senior homeowners who need help with odd maintenance and moving jobs. Jose contacted me immediately when I asked for a quote - some of the other contacts never got in touch. He came to our home that day to see what we needed and assess the need - and then he patiently waited two weeks to do it, rescheduled because we were ill. When we finally did meet, he did an excellent job in a very short time. We are already talking to him about another job. If you need someone with good skills and a great work ethic to help you with essential jobs you can no longer do, call Jose."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Furring strips, thin strips of wood or metal, are not always required for ceiling drywall installation. If the ceiling surface is even and in good condition, drywall can be directly attached to the ceiling joists using screws. However, furring strips become essential when dealing with irregular surfaces or when additional insulation or soundproofing is needed. They create a level substrate for attaching the drywall. Ultimately, the decision to use furring strips depends on the condition of the existing ceiling and the specific requirements of the project.

Depending on how much adhesive was used as well as the strength of the adhesive, you may have some drywall damage when removing a mirror. You can typically repair most drywall damage if it’s small by sanding the damaged area, applying spackle to smooth the damaged section so it’s flush with the rest of the wall, and repainting the area.

Fixing ceiling nail pops involves similar steps to wall repair, with the major difference being the orientation of the work. Ceiling nail pops can be more challenging because you may need to work overhead, which can be physically demanding and require additional safety precautions. Additionally, the ceiling may have different materials or finishes, such as textured surfaces, which can affect the repair process. Otherwise, the fundamental steps are the same.

Drywall insulation costs around $1,800, on average, but prices can range from $500 to $4,500, depending on a few different factors. The following things are important considerations to make when pricing out your insulation project:

  • Square footage of insulation

  • Type of insulation

  • Climate in your area and the insulation R-value required

  • Whether or not your walls are already finished

  • Accessibility of the area

  • Whether or not you need old insulation removed first

Plaster itself has a higher R-value than drywall. However, there are other considerations surrounding plaster and insulation. As a general rule, it's easier to obtain consistency in insulating value and quality when working with drywall rather than plaster. Plaster walls often don't contain any insulation behind the wall covering by design, and careful evaluation is necessary when choosing to add it.
