"Got a few quotes for solar panel install and Forecast was not the cheapest, but they were affordable and worked with me on budget and how much of our power bill we could offset. Their designers were helpful and install went off without a hitch."

"Our project included the purchase and installation of a new gas furnace together with a new central air conditioning system. The installation team was very professional, on time and and left the place spotless upon completion of the project. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Thank you again for making this project such a pleasant experience!"

"The crews that installed our windows and door were the "Seal Team 6" of their profession. They were very fast, highly competent, and did not cut any corners. The did an exceptional job cleaning up their mess and took away the old windows and door, much to our relief. The windows and door look fantastic and retain heat we were losing from the original windows. Our house no longer has drafts or condensation on the windows. I will most certainly recommend Washington Energy Services to all my friends and acquaintances. Furthermore, I will use this company in the future for other needs we may have."

"Great from start to finish, got a text that Bradley was coming, they gave his full name, so I knew who was coming, had his ID card fully visible. It’s was so refreshing to see someone with a smile, who obviously knows his job and enjoys it. Customer satisfaction his goal. He replaced my panel, wiring, and moved it down from its original position, so I can now read the panel. I am extremely pleased with the result."

"The only time I get upset with Dish is when there is a storm I lose picture for a little while because the dish gets clogged. I really like them and I would recommend them.  They are polite and they try to solve your problem over the phone so you don’t have people coming to your house all the time. I get about 200 channels."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Solar panels should get at least four to six hours of direct sunlight daily. It’s even better if sunlight reaches panels between the peak hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is enough to power a home, depending on your solar system’s size and energy needs. Remember that panels will generate some power under cloudy skies or in the shade, and many systems compensate for lower sun exposure by drawing energy from the grid or battery storage.

While you can minimally overshoot the number of solar panels you need for your home, it's not smart to go too far. Not only is the extra cost unnecessary, but your state may put caps on how much energy your home can produce and send back to the grid. It is always best to work with a solar energy professional to determine the best system size for you.

In most cases, solar panels are covered by homeowners insurance because they are considered a permanently attached part of the home, and you may not need additional coverage. However, it is essential to read the fine print of your specific policy to understand the extent of the coverage, as some policies might only cover certain types of damage, such as hail. Always check with your insurance provider before installing solar panels to ensure your policy provides adequate coverage for your investment.

  • Installing a new electrical meter box

  • Replacing your meter base

  • Replacing your service entrance cable

The cost to install or upgrade an electrical meter box ranges from $100 to $650, including $50 to $250 for the unit. The meter base passes the power from your electric company to your panel. The cost to replace a meter base is roughly $50 to $250.

Service entrance cables are electrical cables with multiple wires, bringing power from electrical companies to residential buildings. The cost to replace a service entrance cable ranges roughly from $1,000 to $1,500.

Solar water heating systems are not one-size-fits-all. You'll likely work with a team of experts to get the job done—including solar panel installers, plumbers, and water heater installers. A specialist will help you decide if a passive or active system is best for your local weather, home layout, roof stability, and your budget.
