"Excellent service and work. Maybe a little higher in cost, but well worth it for the service. Would recommend them to anyone needing a new furnace or service work on an existing one. Great people to work with."

"

Overall, we're happy with Sundance's product and capabilities but the reason they didn't get a straight A is their back office. We had to call several times to get an appointment set up and then to find out when the product which had been ordered had arrived and would be installed. Sometimes we'd get someone who had no clue as to what we were calling about and then it would go to someone who was on top of things. Still we had to call again to find out when they were coming out.

The installer was good and clearly knew what he was doing but it was a bit frustrating dealing with the office folks.

If you can live with having to make a few extra calls, you'll be happy with the product.

"We would HIGHLY recommend J & L Mechanical for all your AC & HVAC needs!! Their customer service, prompt response time and execution at installation was amazing. When they came to install the system, they were on time, friendly, respectful of property plus went above and beyond to install our new thermostat which was not part of the "invoice". Thank you again!!"

"1st technician came out said he had to order parts and then never came back. 1 week later sears repair came and replaced defrost panel said it was fixed. I called two days later to say it still was not working. They said I had to pay 2nd service call, even though policy says if recurring for 30 days wouldn’t have to pay. Third technician said it was compressor and it couldn’t be fixed. So, now it been 2 1/2 weeks and still no working fridge. Now they offer only 600.00$ towards replacement and to get similar fridge it cost me 1200.00."

Solar Panels FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, installing solar panels or a solar roof can increase your home's value by approximately 4% to 6%. For a home with a median value of $429,000, this could translate to an increase of around $17,000. A well-maintained solar installation appeals to environmentally-conscious buyers and those looking to lower their utility bills, often helping homes sell faster and at a premium in areas with high electricity rates. However, the exact increase in value depends on factors like the local real estate market, energy costs, and available solar incentives. It's also important that the system is correctly installed and maintained; an older or poorly maintained system may not add significant value, particularly if it's near the end of its lifespan. Other solar features, like panels on a shed, can also boost your home's value.

Rooftop solar panels supply energy to a single household, where a solar farm can power multiple homes at once with clean energy. Residential rooftop solar panels cost more per watt with a lower project total, and those panels only service the residence they are installed on (in most circumstances). With a solar farm, multiple households can buy into the project and share the overall cost.

Solar well pumps range from needing 200 watts of power to as much as 12,000 watts for heavy-duty pumps. Since the most common and cost-friendly solar panels are 100-watt panels, you’ll need between two and 12 panels. The average is between two and eight panels for standard pumps. Based on the average cost of solar panels ($1 to $1.50 per watt), you’d pay between $200 and $1,800 for your well pump solar panels—not including installation.

Yes, you have to get on the roof to cut a hole for solar tubing. It's not possible to complete the job from inside your house by simply cutting through the ceiling. So if you want to go the DIY route, remember to use safe ladder practices. If you’re not comfortable climbing on your roof to install solar tubes, hire a pro who has the tools and expertise to do the job safely.

Yes, you should tell your home insurance company about your solar panels. Even if you believe they’re covered by your existing policy, installing a solar panel system is a significant change to your home. This can affect coverage and premiums. By discussing your new solar panel installation with your insurance provider, you can be sure you have enough coverage and that the policy completely covers the panels against damage.
