"The handyman arrived at 8:20 am ( 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, I would have preferred he arrived at 8:30 as I was not totally ready).  He parked in front of our house, and walked in without removing his shoes until I asked him to. I suggested he should park in the alley to be able to retrieve his tools better (the front is on a hill and has alot of stairs) .  I showed him the list of tasks again (I'd already given it to the receptionist over the phone), and where in the house the work was to be done. He commented about the quality of previous work done (i.e. the caulking done 5 years ago, which is why it needed some maintenance at all).  He moved his truck and came back to the house to begin work.  45 minutes had elapsed from his time of arrival.  He
proceeded to start on the tasks.  He asked some questions along the way, and I worked at my desk waiting for him to complete  his work.  At 11:20 he said he was going to go get the light bulbs that needed replacing and left.
I  then realized he hadn't re-hung the shower head before leaving and phoned the main office, but then realized I was already being charged
for 3 hours of work and said we'd just do it ourselves.
When I got the bill, I  further realized I was being charged another hour and a half for the tech to drive to the lighting store and to come back the next day to install the outdoor bulb.  I also was charged for the 2 bulbs that were now on back-order and that I'd have to go to pick up myself.  If I'd known I was being charged another $150. to buy some light bulbs I would have just ordered them online myself to being with!

When I received the invoice, I voiced my disagreement with what I'd been charged for what was done with the owner, but was told everyone else is very happy with their work and they have a good rating on Angie's list so therefore the invoice was fair in his opinion. He then told me where to send payment in full.

"Todd and his crew were great to work with. They completed our project ahead of when we expected, and did a great job communicating with us throughout the process. The work was done well at a reasonable price, we would use his services again for future projects."

"Our 1923 cedar shingle house had a lot of deferred maintenance when we bought it. It had a dust-bowl-era farmhouse feel, with flaking and chipping white paint, exposed concrete foundation, broken porch railings, and unused wires that needed to be removed. Greg was great about consistent communication as they encountered challenges and decision points. It meant a lot to us to be included in the ongoing plan, especially when we requested extra grinding to take off more old paint and some construction to bolster the rickety porch. Sixto put in incredible work effort, with excellent judgement. We have a toddler and I appreciated that the crew worked on keeping the area clean and being mindful of hazards. Overall, our house was transformed and the price felt right."

"Eugene was great to work with! I had a very short timeline to complete my project and I was fortunate that he was available. He gave great advice on how to choose my colors, had this interesting tool that was able to allow him to match the existing color of the cabinets, and was awesome when it came to communication (huge for me). The work was terrific. I did a final walk through with him and he touched up my very minor issues. I found his price very fair for the quality of work done. I used him to paint a condo that I was listing for sale but I plan to use him in my own home at some point in the future."

Playground Equipment questions, answered by experts

Yes! It’s always a good idea to anchor your playset. Even though they’re heavy, it doesn’t take much wind to blow one over. Anchoring everything to the ground makes it a lot safer for your kiddos.

The average lifespan for a playset is around eight to ten years, but you can probably make it last to 15 years with good weather conditions and proper maintenance. If you’re purchasing a pre-made playset, some brands offer warranties for up to 25 years—long after your kiddos are grown.

Both indoor and outdoor basketball courts are excellent options, and the best choice depends on factors like your local climate, available space, and budget. As long as the court and hoop dimensions are standard, any player can get a great workout and improve their skills on either type of court.

The primary drawback of an outdoor court is that weather, such as rain and wind, can hinder playing time. An indoor court solves this problem, allowing you to play anytime. However, installing an indoor court can be costly and takes up a significant amount of space that might otherwise serve as a living area.

Children can become interested in playset activities as young as two years old, and many start to lose interest between ages nine and 12. Backyard playsets can grow and adapt as the children age and playtime interests change.

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.
