Small jobs welcome

"Awkward job installing a TV and sound bar from former home to a new location with an inset TV console area from the 1990’s. James and his team know their stuff. They did an excellent job installing in a challenging location and then set up the sound bar and surround sound perfectly. Can’t recommend he and his team more highly."

Emergency services offered

"We had As You Wish come out and quote a panel upgrade for a new generator setup with direct plug. All Generac equipment. They took a small deposit and came back a few days later and did the work. Drivers came from Tacoma area and were on time. Techs were Alejandro and I didn't catch the other guys name. Super nice and knowledgeable. They got everything staged, boxes mounted to the walls and ready to go before turning off the power to hook it all up. Once they had the power off, they worked quickly and got it done and the power was back on. Once it was done, they cleaned up and showed me how to use the system when I need it for the next power outage. When it came time to pay the balance, it was exactly what was quoted and not a penny more. Its was a refreshing experience to have both great techs and no surprises for the payments. I will absolutely have them do any other work I need on this property without hesitation. Total invoice was $5,323"

Stereo and Home Theater Systems questions, answered by experts

No, a soundbar is not the same as a true surround sound system. A soundbar is a system with multiple directional speakers that imitates surround sound but does not fully replicate its fidelity and dynamic range. High-end soundbar packages may include a subwoofer and additional speakers to achieve 360-degree sound, making the audio experience closer to true surround sound. However, it will still provide a slightly different audio effect than a dedicated surround sound installation in a home theater.

An accredited, licensed smart home specialist should install your home automation system. For example, a qualified smart home specialist will belong to an organization like the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association. Licenses for qualified technicians require the technician to demonstrate experience and pass state testing. If you’re ready to install a home automation system, consult multiple technicians in your area to compare services and prices and find the best fit for your job.

The standard home theater screen size is 100 inches to 120 inches for a full home theater room, but the ideal size TV to buy depends on a few factors. For example, a screen that’s less than 120 inches may be better in a room with less space and where seating is positioned more closely to the screen. If your seating is close to the screen, a smaller screen is better, in the 60- to 70-inch range. This is common for smaller basement conversions to home theater rooms.

The cost is influenced by the brand and quality of components, the room size and shape, and installation complexity. Custom systems and advanced professional calibrations are typically more expensive but can provide better sound quality.

Yes, most services include necessary hardware like anchors, screws, and wall brackets, though custom shelving may require specific mounting materials.
