"Otto installed over 1500 square feet of Wisconsin Red Oak in our home. It was such a professional and incredible job. Additionally, Otto had to color match a section that connected to the previous wood floors, and he did this to perfection. Did a fantastic job, showed up on time and finished when they said they would. I have referred Otto to several clients and they have always thanked me profusely. Can’t recommend highly enough!"

"When I talked to them, they were extremely professional. I was able to tell them what I needed and they sent a person out to measure the floor right away and gave me an estimated time that they would be able to come out and they met the estimated time. I especially liked the fact that they were able to accomplish my preference of communication via email."

"I definitely recommend Timberland floors for hardwood floor restoration Kien and Do were timely, professional and efficient. Other contractors said it could not be done and my old hard wood floors look brand new. In addition the rest of the water damage repaired, including drywall, painting and molding. "FCD Floors, Inc. transformed our home and we love it! We have hired them TWICE!! Our new flooring is beautiful! We've been waiting for the right time to change our floors. And when we were ready to upgrade, we needed something that works for us and especially our pets (we have 4 small dogs.) We needed something that holds up well with accidents, waterproof, scratch and tear resistant. It's crazy because there are soooo many pet-friendly flooring types to choose from! But we chose the LUXURY VINYL PLANK.) They mimic the look of hardwood but is much easier on pets (and our budget). Fredy Berrios did a great job explaining everything we needed to know. From style, color and design selections, pricing comparisons, scheduling, to getting our old carpeting out and putting in our new floors. I love that they were flexible on our budget and very patient with us! They were friendly, helpful and most of all very skilled and professional. They cleaned up so well you would have never known an installation took place. We really enjoy our new floors. Our dogs love them too! Would definitely recommend and use FCD Floors, Inc again!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Installing carpet over carpet may affect the warranty of the new carpet. Check with the manufacturer or retailer regarding their warranty policies. Many warranties stipulate specific installation guidelines, and installing carpet over carpet may not comply with these requirements. Voiding the warranty due to improper installation methods can leave you without help in case of issues or defects with the new carpet.

No, termites don’t eat bamboo flooring like they do hardwood flooring. That’s because bamboo is a hardy grass that is naturally resistant to many pests, including termites. If you’re concerned about termites or other pests that could damage your floors, you can achieve a look similar to hardwood without the stress of pests by installing bamboo flooring.

Popular features homeowners add to their game rooms include pool or ping pong tables, arcade machines, home theater systems, gaming consoles, custom lighting, and built-in storage. Many homeowners also add soundproofing, mini-fridges, or wet bars for added comfort and entertainment value. These features will increase your total investment, but make your game room more enjoyable and functional.

Spring and fall are the best seasons for installing carpet. Both seasons benefit from moderate temperatures and low humidity levels, which can help the carpet acclimate to the room and settle properly once installed. However, installing carpet during the winter months could result in lower costs, as demand for this service is low.

It all depends on what you’re looking for in a floor. Cork flooring is certainly softer and more sound-absorbing than hardwood floors, and the two share very similar maintenance routines. That said, for some homeowners, the pristine appearance of hardwood floors may be more appealing, and they may be less prone to scratches and dents than cork flooring. Hardwood flooring also tends to be more expensive than cork flooring.
