"This was the second time I’ve hired Jose to install flooring! He did the living room and kitchen last year, and the bathroom and hallway most recently! He is always professional, a great communicator, and an expert at installing my floors. Jose and his team were in and out in just one day! They worked really quickly and efficiently, and the finished product looks great. If I had any more floors to redo, I’d have Jose and his team back in a heartbeat!"

"VNV (Jonathan) was easy to work with and able to accommodate a tight time frame on my end, which was great. Vasiliy installed the new tile floor for me as well as performing some tile/grout repair in a 2nd bath and did a great job. He was dependable/prompt, courteous and flexible. I'm happy to recommend VNV/Vasiliy to others for their tiling jobs."

"When long time renter moved out of house I inherited I found that there were original hardwood floors underneath carpet Since renter had cats the floors were in bad shape. I hired Aaron’s flooring to sand and refinish the floors. All I can say is I am more than satisfied. My floors look stunning. His team was fast and professional. Highly recommend"

Customers say: Quick response

"Original 1963 hardwood floors under carpet all this time. Wood floors had glue/tape and bad stains. Timberland restored them better than I had ever hoped. Love my new authentic oak floors. Arrived when they said and finished when they said."

"FCD Floors, Inc. transformed our home and we love it! We have hired them TWICE!! Our new flooring is beautiful! We've been waiting for the right time to change our floors. And when we were ready to upgrade, we needed something that works for us and especially our pets (we have 4 small dogs.) We needed something that holds up well with accidents, waterproof, scratch and tear resistant. It's crazy because there are soooo many pet-friendly flooring types to choose from! But we chose the LUXURY VINYL PLANK.) They mimic the look of hardwood but is much easier on pets (and our budget). Fredy Berrios did a great job explaining everything we needed to know. From style, color and design selections, pricing comparisons, scheduling, to getting our old carpeting out and putting in our new floors. I love that they were flexible on our budget and very patient with us! They were friendly, helpful and most of all very skilled and professional. They cleaned up so well you would have never known an installation took place. We really enjoy our new floors. Our dogs love them too! Would definitely recommend and use FCD Floors, Inc again!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

There are many different types of carpets for you to choose from. When choosing a carpet, it’s essential to consider the following:

  • Fiber: Describes what your carpet is made of, such as polyester, wool, nylon, or acrylic.

  • Pile type: Explains how your carpet looks. Your carpet fibers can be looped, twisted, cut, or woven.

  • Pile height: Describes the length of your carpet. You can choose a low, medium, or high pile.

  • Density: Refers to how close yarn fibers are to each other.

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.

Porcelain and ceramic tile are two of the longest-lasting kitchen flooring materials. However, while these materials can withstand a good amount of daily wear and tear, they’re likely to crack if you drop something heavy on them, and they’re pricier than many other options. On average, installing a ceramic tile kitchen floor costs between $1,240 and $11,250. Other durable kitchen flooring options include natural stone and concrete.

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.
