"When I called the mold company for my lab results. They gave me a person named Ricardo Echeverria, Senior Mold Analyst to call for the results. He verbally told me that the cause was something like a remodel, construction going on. There was a red flag for a VOC called Methylene Chloride--Banned outdated paint. I sent Ricardo and email asking if I can have a report of what he said in writing. I only received a contaminants list. I said, I am not a scientist and do not understand the lab results.I never received a response back from him. I called Jeremiah Bancroft a few times and asked for a written explanation of the causes. He could not supply me with a written explanation because it was a legal issue. I asked for his help. I need your help. Jeremiah said, go to your primary care for a doctors note. That was the last time I spoke to him on September 19, 2024"

The ceilings on the first floor had fallen in, and poo water was everywhere. He was absolutely no nonsense professional in getting a stinky situation under control. He knew exactly what needed to be done, and he wasted no time doing it in a thorough and professional manner. He was helpful through the entire project, from cleaning up the nastiness, to dealing with the insurance company, and getting the tenants back into their home. It can be challenging to know if mold is growing behind walls without knocking them down. If the walls show signs of water damage (discoloration, water stains, or peeling paint) or there’s a musty odor, it’s possible mold is growing. Know the difference between signs of water damage vs. termites because termite infestations are sometimes mistaken for water damage. A more subtle sign might be your own health: If you’re constantly not feeling well or are sneezing, scratching your eyes, or coughing when in a specific room, you could have mold.

The microscopic asbestos fibers do not cause eye irritation, throat irritation, or lung irritation. If you are inhaling fibers, you will not know it. This lack of immediate symptoms is one of the reasons why asbestos is so dangerous. You cannot know for certain if you are inhaling fibers, which is why you must wear safety gear if you could have any chance of an exposure while working.

If you can locate building records, you may be able simply to see what type of tiles (or bonding agent) was used. Any flooring made between 1950 and 1989 more than likely contains asbestos. Asbestos tiles can also be slightly thicker than other tiles and often measure 9” x 9”, 12” x 12”, and 18” x 18. Black mastic was a commonly used adhesive that contains asbestos.

Damp air from a humidifier can cause mold in ducts if it raises the air's humidity level too high for the duct system to handle or malfunctions, but it’s not a normal occurrence. To avoid mold trouble, set the humidistat to between 30% and 35% and inspect it often to ensure accuracy.

Breathing in fiberglass dust can cause respiratory irritation and discomfort. The small fibers of the material, which can become airborne, may be inhaled and irritate the respiratory tract, potentially resulting in symptoms such as coughing, throat irritation, and shortness of breath. Although these effects are usually temporary and not associated with long-term health problems, repeated or prolonged exposure to high levels of fiberglass dust can worsen respiratory discomfort.
