We got in touch with Fireside Gas and Chimney last year to finally get a wood stove installed that we had been sitting on for a while due to not being able to find a service with time for us. Even late in the year, they were able to get us onto their schedule in a reasonable amount of time. We worked with James, who I cannot speak highly enough of. I undertook the building of the hearth for our stove myself, and James was more than helpful in answering questions I had about making sure the project was safely constructed and met dimensional codes. Even through some hiccups in scheduling, including bad weather, and cases of covid, they were able to keep the install moving swiftly, and made sure we got prioritized when things started to drag on longer than expected. The install was fast, professional, and looks great. Iâ m happy we had James doing this work for us. He sourced high quality materials, maintained great communication, brought a wealth of knowledge from his time in firefighting, and relived me of the anxiety of having to cut a hole in my own house. Our stove went in toward the end of January, and we canâ t imagine our home without it now. It has seriously cut into our heating bill! These are the guys you want for your stove install!"

"Horrible customer service and the product is only getting worse over time. I have ordered 16 shutters from them over 5 separate orders during the last two years. A recent order late last year came with parts missing and getting replacement parts was a hassle because I had to provide pictures. How do you provide pictures of missing parts? My most recent order arrived without the mounting strips and blocking strips being pre-drilled. I received the screws and screw covers but no holes for them. After multiple back and forth with "Angie" from customer service I was forwarded a poorly spelled response from their supplier stating "usually" they don't pre-drill holes. Usually? All of my other shutters over the last two years were pre-drilled. I was then told it was my fault because this order was a single panel shutter vs all my previous orders being dual shutters and I would have to pay to get replacement strips with pre-drilled holes in them. What does a single vs a dual shutter have to do with whether or not holes are drilled in hanging and blocking strips?"

"They care. And it is obvious. I would recommend them 1000 times over. I started my search for a roofing contractor during the pandemic and was universally unimpressed with the bulk of contractors who came to estimate the job. That is, prior to meeting Gabe and the folks at Top Notch. Not only are the competitively priced, but they send an actual roofing expert out for estimating, as opposed to a salesman. I immediately felt was in good hands as he answered all my questions with authority and knowledge. On the job site, the crew was clean, polite, and professional. We did have a few hiccups along the way, which as anyone who has ever done renovation can tell you, is par for the course. These specific hiccups were discontinued products and shipping damages that were simply accidents. Just bad luck that had nothing to do with Top Notch. But it was their reaction to the situation that really won me over. Gabe, the foreman, and Jessica went above and beyond to come to my house on multiple weekends to install skylights because that is the kind of business they operate."
