PROs --Best price of the 3 quotes I obtained --Salesman (Pete) was terrific. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, no-pressure, punctual, polite. Couldn't ask for more. --Installation trucks were immaculate. --Installation crew was professional, polite, punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. Carmine Jr. showed me problems with our heating system that were building up and never identified by our prior heating/AC service company (we got 2x per year service) or by our oil company (1x per year service). He took the time to explain each issue, how it occurred and where it could progress. --The installation crew took pride in their work and stayed until the job was done (8:00pm one evening to get us up and running) I would definitely recommend Carmine's (and Pete) and will almost certainly be switching my service to them. They're pretty good, however they tend to be pretty pricey. My brakes were squealing recently, and they quoted me a price ranging from $350-425, depending on the quality of brake pads i chose. I asked if they could turn my rotors (resurface them) as opposed to installing new ones, thereby saving me some money. They advised that they never do this because the rotors are never salvageable. (I've always had rotors turned in the past, with no ill effects!) I then went online and learned about Burlington Muffler and Brake. The receptionist was very well informed, knew about turning rotors and said they would do that if there was enough and quot;meatand quot; left on them. I was relieved that the front line person was so well informed, and felt confident that the technicians would be equally capable. I made an appointment to have the vehicle inspected, and was told that should I approve, they would go ahead with the work the same day. Upon arriving, I was greeted in a spacious waiting area by the same woman with whom I had spoken earlier. She took my information and introduced me to Ken, the technician. He test drove my vehicle, and pulled into a service bay while I waited in the waiting room. After a short time, he emerged from the shop and asked me to describe the problem I was having with my brakes. I told him of the squealing noise and assumed it was sensors indicating a pad replacement was needed. He told me that after pulling all the wheels and checking pads and rotors, nothing appeared to be worn to the point of needing replacement. I asked if i could take a look myself, and without hesitation he took me back in the shop to his service bay where my vehicle was up on the lift. Having a bit of experience working on cars myself, I could see he was spot on with his observations. While the squealing remains (it's not much of an annoyance), I wasn't asked to pay for a brake job I did not need. He added that if I wanted to bring in the vehicle for an upgrade to ceramic pads, that could be done for about $130. Fair enough. He then moved back to the exhaust system, where he showed me a rusted, failing hanger and the resultant flange failure. He explained that this is usually the first place on this particular model which needs attention, and offered to install a flange eliminator kit, costing a total of $60 plus tax. I encouraged him to go ahead, and returned to the waiting area, where the receptionist told me of a nearby restaurant I could visit for lunch. After eating, I returned to find my vehicle finished, and was presented with a very reasonable invoice for $64.20. They reassured me that all work was guaranteed for one year. Duly impressed at that point, I asked about bringing my other car, a 1993 Toyota MR2, in for some front struts and tires. They were very receptive and joked that it had been some time since they'd seen one in the shop. I left with a very good feeling about the whole experience. I will definitely be returning when I need quality vehicle service priced fairly. Referring my friends to this business will be easy...they can't be beat, in my opinion! They said they would come between 1 and 3pm. They called the day before to request a slight change in schedule, but ended up rescinding their request. On the day of the work they arrived on time. Two men performed the work, one of whom appeared to be the master plumber. He introduced himself as Brian. He removed the old toilet while his assistant unpacked and assembled the new toilet. After installing the new toilet, they informed me they needed to replace an angle stop on the supply line because it was dripping. I authorized this and they finished the work. Total time on site was about 40 minutes, which was consistent with the original time estimate that I received. They cleaned up and explained the charges, which I paid immediately by credit card. FAQs for concrete finishing projects in Cabot, VT
Concrete repair costs range anywhere from about $0.10 to $0.15 per linear foot to fill minor cracks, to about $6 to $14 per square foot to replace damaged concrete slabs. Repair costs vary widely depending on the size and type of work needed. For example, replacing 100 square feet of driveway will cost between $600 to $1,400, on average.
The average cost of stamped concrete is around $12 per square foot, but you might pay anywhere from $8 to $28 per square foot. The average 12-foot by 12-foot patio costs $1,730 on average. Your exact pricing will depend on the patio’s square footage, the condition of the area where you want to pour the concrete, the desired stamp pattern, concrete coloring, concrete grade, and local labor prices. Don’t forget to budget for extra costs like land preparation and additional concrete fortifications if necessary.
Depending on the cost to repair your driveway, it may be more cost effective to tear out and replace it with a new concrete driveway. The cost to repave a driveway ranges between $1,400 and $12,100, including removal of the old concrete. Contact a reputable concrete contractor for advice and an estimate. They may have a good reason for going with repairs or replacement after assessing your driveway. You may also have the option to resurface your driveway or pave over it without taking out the existing one.
It’s possible to create stamped concrete yourself, but we don’t recommend it and it’s often not cost-effective. It’s easy to mess up the pattern of a stamped concrete patio or walkway, leaving you with an unsightly home exterior rather than the elegant solution you wanted. Any mistakes made during the ground leveling and concrete pouring process will also increase the risk of cracks forming on your concrete. Additionally, buying enough stamps to get the pattern in before your concrete cures can cost as much as hiring a professional to do the work for you.
Concrete contractors typically charge anywhere from $6 to $14 per square foot. Cost factors include job size, site prep, base material, accessibility, your location, concrete finish, and concrete thickness. Removal of existing concrete, asphalt, deck, pavers, and grass will cost anywhere from $1 to $6 per square foot. Homeowners can often save money by removing and disposing of existing pavers, decks, and grass. Breaking up and hauling away concrete and asphalt is difficult and time-consuming without the proper equipment and may be worth having the pros do that work.
