"I got a deal from Berger about their table pad and just in time for my new dining room set. I didn't have time to set the template due to a new baby in the house. A few months later, they still honored my deal! WOW! I sent it in and they made the pad pretty quick. Shipping was fine and the fit was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone! Truly a good company to work with. A++"

"All work was completed to my satisfaction and beyond. Grodbin and his crew are all very professional and I can't say enough good things about Grodbin's service, painting and carpentry work. This is the 3rd time I've used him, and there is no one else I would recommend more for doing the interior wall restoration and painting, and carpentry work. He and his crew are second to none when it comes to drywall work and making the interior walls look brand new. His attention to detail is what makes him great, and will only leave a job when the customer is happy and will come back to make sure that everything is perfect.

"I am very happy with the work performed by Advanced Glass. We solicited multiple bids, they were the lowest cost. Also, they were very helpful with design ideas (what works and does not). Install was on time (3 hours); very nice work. Cleanup and low noise. Excellent! Now we have a very fancy glass shower. Wife is very pleased and we saved several hundred dollars over other other bud prices."

MAGNIFICO! The floors look awesome and I intend to add photos. I don't believe you will find a better deal for the money and would go with Dominion Carpet again.

Special thanks to Orlando, Manuel, Antonio, Alex, Jose, and Joey and I few others whose names escape me.

DO's: Listen to Joey regarding advise to wait to paint the rooms until after the floors are done. I hired one of the workers to do some paint in between the floor jobs and it may have been better if I would have waited.

Regarding billing: To be clear I am happy with the end product and believe the pricing was fair despite some possible overly zealous statements made during the sale (before work was completed).  I was advised I would receive felt for the furniture which later became my getting reimbursed for felt I purchased. (I will amend this if I do get reimbursed but that has not happened to date). Also, the invoice showed a $400 charge for a third coat of high gloss finish when I received two high gloss coats but the floors look awesome and again, I don't think you will find a better deal for the money. I did email the biller about this but have not yet received a response. Bottom line it was still an awesome deal. The floors look AWESOME and YES, I would go with Dominion again. I hope I'm able to insert the photo's on Angie's list so you can see and judge for yourself.

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Whether you should mix cabinet pulls and knobs comes down to personal preference and the space you're decorating. Choosing matching cabinet hardware creates a more cohesive look, but it's not as distinct and eye-catching as a mix-and-match design. Smaller spaces benefit most from matching hardware since too many styles can visually crowd or overwhelm a small room.

Mid-century modern design focused primarily on two things: simple, functional furniture, often with geometric shapes, and specific color palettes that included earth tones and what we’d today call retro colors. Furniture often blended different materials, like teak or oak wood, with vinyl, metal, and glass. Common mid-century modern paint colors included browns, reds, burnt oranges, yellows, aqua greens, and whites.

The cost to have your house decorated for Christmas depends on the extent of your holiday vision. Interior decorators charge between $50 and $150 per hour on average, so if your decorations are minimal, you could pay as little as $200 for a couple of hours of decorating. Interior decorators might also bill $5 to $12 per square foot, or a flat rate of $500 to $1,300 per room. You can also pay to have your Christmas tree professionally decorated for an average of $200 to $600. Contact a local interior decorator for a specific quote.

Professional holiday decorators are used to working with homeowners with varying needs, so the services can include nearly anything related to holiday decorations. Some services you might want to consider include the following:

  • Exterior light hanging

  • Other exterior decorations

  • Exterior tree decorating

  • Interior tree design and decorating

  • Removing holiday decorations at the end of the season

  • Packaging decorations after removal

  • Holiday decoration storage

Whether hiring an interior designer is worth the cost depends on your budget, the scope of the project, and your own design and project management skills. For larger projects or those beyond your DIY skills, an interior designer is often a worthwhile investment. The benefits include realizing the best layout, functionality, and decor for your lifestyle and taste; managing the project to keep it on track and within budget; serving as a point of contact for contractors; accessing discounts from suppliers; and assisting with home staging for a sale.
