"He showed up on time and did all my windows in my house. I have 13 windows, and 5 of them needed to be rebuilt from the frame up. One window was missing a screen, another was bent. He cleaned up, and I am very happy with his services. Our windows are a bit old, 15 years old and they looked worn but they now look so much better. Casement windows can either be left or right opening, and every window manufacturer makes both so that you can choose which works best for your space. Just remember that the direction is described from the curb. An FCL (from the curb left) hinges out to the left if you’re looking at the exterior of your home, and an FCR (from the curb right) hinges out to the right.

The rough opening refers to the framed space in the wall where the window will be placed. That means the full size of the space will be filled with both glass and frame once the new window is installed. For a standard window, a rough opening adds 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch to both the length and width.
