"I contacted Mr John Boothe for an estimate to replace my 330 sq ft asphalt driveway with concrete. He arrived on the arranged date and time to survey the project and gave me a very reasonable estimate for the job after answering all my questions regarding asphalt removal, concrete load bearing specifications, reinforcement, surface finishing, etc. I selected his bid and he gave me a date and time he would begin the job. His two man crew arrived at 7:15 am (fifteen minutes early) on the appointed date and promptly started breaking up the asphalt which John hauled away per the agreement. The crew prepared the bed, placed the forms, and placed the reinforcement mesh in preparation for the concrete. When the cement truck arrived, they immediately set about spreading the concrete and smoothing the surface. They did a final troweling, marked the expansion joints, and broom finished the surface once the concrete was firm enough to work. They removed the forms after the concrete set a bit longer and that finished the job at 12:00 pm. The job took four hours and forty-five minutes. I am extremely pleased the with the work and attention to detail John and his crew maintained while completing the job. I'm especially pleased with the driveway appearance. I highly recommend John Boothe for any concrete work."

"I used this firm to replace my concrete driveway that had several cracks and was in need of replacement. They were timely in terms of making the initial contact and got the work the work scheduled very quickly there after. Very professional in the way they treated me and the crew did a good job for a one day removal and replacement of the driveway. I would highly recommend them to others for such work."

"Troy worked with us and our two neighbors to provide a good price for installation of a patio and sealing of two patios. We did not have to wait weeks or months for them to begin work and we have exactly what we asked for. We requested a stamped concrete patio that looked like brick, and it looks better than expected. Troy is very responsive to any requests or issues. We are very pleased with patio and the value for money."

"I have a 28 year old asphalt driveway that needed to be resurfaced. He was prompt providing a quote at a fair price compared to three others. His crew did one day of prep work consisting of digging out crumbled/cracked areas and edging the entire 300' driveway. The next day they applied 2" of asphalt and did a perfect job with great attention to detail. Then they cleaned up the whole area and it looks great. Richard Golobo and his crew have my highest recommendation. I could not be happier with the whole job."

"The initial installation went well - one issue was identified which needed correction and responsiveness was slower than what I was comfortable with (hence the "B"). But the team showed up, corrected the issue, were very professional and thorough in their tasks and did a very nice job on a follow-up sealing of the new driveway."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

For pressure washing a driveway, a PSI (pounds per square inch) between 2,000 and 3,000 is recommended for both concrete and asphalt surfaces. A pressure of 3,000 PSI is ideal for deep cleaning without causing damage, effectively removing debris, dirt stains, and even oil spills. If your pressure washer has a lower PSI rating, you can still use it, but the cleaning process will take longer. For a more efficient and even clean, consider using a surface cleaner attachment.

If you’re using water pressure above 2,000 PSI, you should wear a full face shield—at 4,000 PSI, a water jet can easily slice through skin. Always wear heavy-duty, waterproof gloves and rubber boots with metatarsal guards. If you’re working with hot water, make sure your gloves are insulated.

Yes, a pressure washer uses less water than a garden hose. There are many ways to use a pressure washer, and it can be an eco-friendly hose substitute. While a pressure washer expels water with greater force, it uses 50% to 70% less water than a garden hose. Specifically, hoses put out six to 10 gallons per minute (GPM), while pressure washers only use two to five GPM.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

Not pressure washing your driveway can lead to several consequences that affect both its appearance and its structural integrity over time:

  • Reduced Curb Appeal: A dirty driveway covered in grime, stains, and mildew detracts from your home's overall appearance.

  • Safety Hazards: The buildup of algae, moss, and mildew creates slippery surfaces. When wet, it increases the risk of slips and falls for you, your family, and visitors.

  • Structural Damage: Dirt, debris, and organic growth can trap moisture against the driveway's surface. In colder climates, this moisture can freeze and thaw, leading to cracks and deterioration of the concrete or asphalt.
