"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

"

Did a good job, providing 2 layouts to choose from.  Completed design and sent email and snail mail paint and furniture samples in a little over a month from starting the process.  The previous estimate was 2-3 weeks so it wasn't so late.  My only disappointment was the design was not for the complete room.  They told me that the missing area was considered an entry way or hallway and could be designed for an additional fee.  I did not want to pay an additional and accepted their explanation, but on second thought, in my opinion, it isn't really separate.  There is a large archway one-third of the way into the room, but I have never considered it as two separate rooms and no one visiting my home has ever mentioned it.  Every room has an entrance.  I wouldn't call the way to get into a room as a separate room. Other than that, I would say a got a great deal overall.

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

In Roanoke, tailor your routine to local weather. Each spring, check for moisture damage from winter and swap heavy fabrics for lighter ones. In summer, rotate rugs and protect furniture from strong sunlight. Fall is ideal for adding warm accents and inspecting fireplaces. Winter calls for maximizing natural light and keeping entryways clear of mud, ensuring your home always attracts buyers.

Helpful?

Home staging in Roanoke needs regular upkeep due to humidity and frequent showings. Weekly, dust surfaces and tend to indoor plants. Monthly, deep clean carpets and check for sun damage on furniture. Rotate accessories to reflect current buyer trends and local real estate market preferences. Each season, update décor to match Roanoke’s climate, keeping your home inviting and market-ready.

Helpful?

In Roanoke, be cautious of quotes that lack detail, seem unusually low, or require full payment upfront. A reputable stager should understand local buyer preferences and provide a clear breakdown of services. Watch for professionals who ignore outdoor spaces or seasonal needs, or who don’t offer references. Always request a written contract outlining all home staging and maintenance services.

Helpful?

In Roanoke, if your home feels empty, lacks flow, or buyers can’t picture living there, home staging is likely needed. However, if you spot water stains, electrical issues, or uneven floors, address those repairs first. Staging enhances a property’s appearance for the real estate market, but structural or safety concerns require professional attention before cosmetic improvements.

Helpful?

In Roanoke, if staged rooms look dated compared to current real estate listings, or if décor clashes with popular local styles, it’s time for a refresh. Signs like musty odors from humidity, sun-faded fabrics, or warped wood are common in VA’s climate. If buyers comment that the home feels uninviting or mismatched, updating staging can boost your home sale appeal.
