Small jobs welcome

"After an exhausting search and multiple quotes ranging from $9k to $25k for our driveway, we found Keith from Concrete Vision through Angie. His quote came in under $8k, which honestly felt too good to be true at first. But after meeting him, we felt confident moving forward. Keith showed up early, worked efficiently, and completed the entire driveway in just two days. The whole process was smooth, simple, and stress-free something we did not experience with other contractors who were difficult to reach or slow to respond. We truly appreciated the fair pricing, professionalism, and how easy he made this project for us. If you’re looking for someone reliable who communicates well and gets the job done right, we definitely recommend Concrete Vision."

"I highly recommend Tuck GC for all hardscaping projects. James “Tuck” Tucker is a hands-on owner who is involved in all aspects of his projects, including design and installation. Tuck helped me decide what to do with hardscaping in my yard, and after I decided to go with pavers for a renovated driveway he helped me select the pavers as well as stone for a new front walkway, even taking the time to meet me at Sislers Stone in Manassas to look at various options. Tuck’s crew, which includes father Santos and his son Sergio, also is fantastic. They are incredibly hard workers, and regularly worked 10-12 hour days on my project and even worked a full Saturday and Sunday one weekend because of concern about upcoming cold weather. Together Tuck and his team do incredibly high-quality work, which you can see in a video of my project and numerous other videos of Tuck’s projects that he has posted to his YouTube channel at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/@Tuckgcinc."

Customers say: True professional

"We have a slight hill at the end of our gravel driveway, which washed out pretty badly during the recent hurricane rains. I was looking for someone to repair this, and get us another year out of the gravel driveway before we have it paved. I called three different companies, and Bill Cooper was the one who gave me the best explanation of what needed to be done. He wasn't trying to push me towards an expensive new driveway, but rather gave me options to do it right. In the end, we covered the loose gravel with a milling base, which looks better and sets me up to pave the driveway in a year or so, when it has appropriately settled. I think Bill really knows his stuff, and I'm very happy with the way things turned out."

"Dani, Jose, and the Concreto Plus crew did really nice work. I am very pleased with my new concrete driveway. Concreto Plus gave me an initial estimate and worked with me throughout the process to make sure things went smoothly. They also worked well with the needed county inspectors to ensure the new driveway was in compliance with local regulations."

"The gravel driveway at our sonâ s home was in pretty bad shape. The culvert at the roadside entrance had rusted over time and was further damaged by a couple of car accidents that bent and disrupted water drainage. We selected Hunterâ s Development, LLC after speaking with Kelly, the owner and seeing all of the super positive reviews on Home Advisor. The entire driveway was graded, then additional gravel put down and tamped to provide a wider and thicker driveway. Twenty feet of asphalt was added to the roadside to provide a smoother and safer entrance and exit. Kelly and crew did a great job at a reasonable price. We highly recommend him and his crew for your driveway needs. Kelly is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We are so very satisfied with the results. Give him a call."

"We have been homeowners in Chantilly for 35 years and have never worked with a more professional, reliable, and courteous group than Miley and his team at MJ Paving. Their quote to repave our driveway was fast and fair. They showed up when expected and finished the job exactly as promised - no surprises. The quality of their workmanship is exceptional. We wholeheartedly recommend MJ Paving to anyone considering a new driveway."

Concrete Driveways FAQs, answered by experts

On average, pressure washing a house can take anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours. The time frame to pressure wash or power wash your home, fence, or other property depends on the size of the project and the complexity and accessibility of the areas that need cleaning. Part of the time required to complete the job includes setup and removal of equipment needed. A two-story house with a steep roof may require working from scaffolding or a ladder, likely adding to the time required to finish the project.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

These parts of the house are okay to pressure wash:

  • Natural wood decking that is not stained or painted

  • Siding made of vinyl, aluminum, and cement

  • Concrete

  • Most children’s toys

  • Outdoor furniture

  • Trash cans and recycle bins

Stamped concrete is durable and relatively easy to maintain. Regular maintenance includes sweeping away debris to keep it clean and prevent staining. It is also important to repair any cracks promptly to maintain its appearance and longevity. The concrete should be resealed every 2 to 4 years to protect the surface.

Regular maintenance will help you avoid costly repairs and early replacement. Clean the driveway surface with a stiff brush and water at least twice yearly, and remove any weeds that try to take root. Additionally, every two to five years, apply a sealcoat—this protects the driveway against damaging UV rays and keeps it looking like new.
