"Excellent job overall. John was faced with challenges with the fence post removal in that they were imbedded in rather large amounts of concrete that required extra efforts (steel pry bars and winch) to remove from the ground. John disposed of the fence posts and concrete remains as well. John also removed, replaced and disposed of twelve 2x10x48" pressure treated steps. Many of the steps required special handling and additional bracing installed due to the age and condition of the existing stair stringers. After the initial installation, John was asked to re-look at a couple of the stair treads, and he returned very promptly to return and make adjustments without complaint. John also removed the remnants of two 2x8' very old (and brittle) overhead semi-transparent panels over the rear deck. He replaced with new customer-provided polycarbonate panels of the same dimensions and hauled away the old remains. He also removed and disposed of several unwanted saplings that were growing at random and completed a major trim on an overgrown euonymus bush/tree to prevent damage to house siding and allow adequate airflow to an outside air-conditioning unit."
"Detached garage build went wonderfully. Kevin and his subcontractors did excellent work. The finished product is just as promised and was completed in a timely manner. Price at completion was as quoted and we are extremely happy with KOB LLC"
"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"The project has taken more time than anticipated due to material and subcontractor availability. The framing work was outstanding. Wall board work was also outstanding. Electrical work was very good, but the location of a bathroom fixture and chair lift power plug had to be moved because they were too low. The tile work in the bathroom (shower and floor), computer room (floor), entrance (floor) was outstanding, but I'd rather call it amazing. The plumbing work was very good, but parts availability delayed completion. Finishing work done by MJL was outstanding!!! Anthony is a master at detail. The rigor of MJL inspection of work by the subcontractors was very thorough and when issues were identified were recorded and worked off. Communication and follow up is a big deal for home improvement projects in this challenging environment of material, parts, and workforce shortages. MJL excelled in communication. We rated punctuality as good but would have rated them very good if there was an option. We highly recommend them. We have since booked two additional projects with MJL, a screened in porch and a garage redo. They start in late July. We expect both projects to go very well."
"Amber showed up exactly on time. She was courteous and professional in the midst of multiple move-in activities and vendors. She took the time to explain to me the value of material types and pros and cons of each choice we discussed. At the end of the day the estimate was HALF of all other competitive bids. The day of installation the installer was on time - professional, efficient and took the time to explain everything to me as far as codes and motors. The job came in as estimated budget-wise. This was one of the best consumer experiences I've had -customer service, trust in the Stoneberger team/employees, price and quality of product. I could not recommend them any higher!
"They did an awesome job you can't tell that there was horrible water damage to a section at all. They also had it blended in just right when they applied the texture. They paid close attention to detail and always cleaned up promptly especially in the demo stage. He was friendly reliable and you could tell he was very knowledgeable about his trade. I like the fact that he never tried to up charge or add more things on. In fact he actually helped fix our attic door at no additional cost. He was very thorough and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his services. His work is top quality and you don't have to pay top price. His pricing is fair and doesn't leave you with a bad taste in your mouth like so many other contractors do! If we have any more jobs in the future we would use Gary and his crew again, in fact they'd be the first call we'd make. "
"Seth and his crew did a fantastic job! Completed the job within the estimate and took the time to ensure the job was done right. They did such a good job that we have hired them to do some additional work in our home."
"I purchased an Angie's List deal for $200 worth of electrical labor for $99. Overall, the experience with Walls was very positive. Communication with their dispatch office was personable and responsive. Jay was very professional and provided a thorough quote. He ensured I understood any additional scope creep so I wouldn't be surprised when/if it occurred (in this case, he said there was the possibility of a support beam being in their way but thankfully it was not). The very next morning, Jay came back (with Kyle) to do the work. They were very efficient and completed within the coupon's $200 allotted amount. My only complaint was that, when scheduling the visit, their dispatch team mentioned being able to have the work done in the same visit as the quote. I was fully expecting that to happen and was disappointed when I received the visit and was told just the quote could be completed. Even though Jay was not aware of what their folks had committed to, he felt bad and made up for it by coming extra early the very next morning (on my request). Between that level of customer service and the good guys he and Kyle seem to be, it really changed what could have been a negative review into a positive one. "
"Their scheduling manager is very professional and friendly. Their staff that conduct the work were prompt and provided adequate communication. Easy and painless with great service. I will definitely be a regular customer going forward."
Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts
There's no simple answer to which is less costly: wood or metal-framed homes. In most cases, metal building components cost more than wooden ones, while entire metal buildings cost less than wooden versions. However, regardless of the exterior framing or structure, each must meet similar building codes. This means that the costs are about the same, even considering that wood will require more maintenance than metal over time.
It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build a new one. Building a home involves numerous costs, including labor, permits, inspections, utility hookups, and brand-new materials, finishes, and appliances. Additionally, new construction loans can have higher interest rates than traditional mortgages, and property taxes on new homes are often higher, increasing long-term costs. An exception is a DIY house build, which can be cheaper than buying an existing home if you do the labor yourself. While building is generally more expensive, a new custom home offers complete control over the layout and design. Furthermore, new construction is typically worth more than a comparable pre-owned home and may provide a better return on investment if sold quickly.
It is recommended that you check with your local building official on barn building requirements and rules, since size restrictions vary greatly from region to region based on what your property is zoned for. Some cities limit barn construction depending on if your property is residential or commercial. The three main factors your building commission will evaluate are:
Height and lot coverage: How tall your barn is and how much of your total property it occupies
Setback: Distance between barn and property line
Easement: Legal right for another owner to access another’s property
The difference between a pole barn and a stick-built barn is in the construction. Large poles in the ground provide support for pole barns. For stick-built barns, 2-by-4 or 2-by-6 lumber (known as sticks) create a frame around load-bearing beams. Stick-built construction is far more popular for residential homes. Pole barns are more cost-effective because they require fewer materials and less labor.
Yes, barndominiums can be two stories. Blueprints for barndominiums can safely support multiple stories or vaulted ceiling heights of 14 feet or more. Barndominiums are prized for their ability to be modified and customized to suit the builder’s preferences, and many barndominium construction companies offer a variety of different floor plans to choose from.
