Gary Carlisle has 30 years experience in the construction industry for over thirty years. Starting at 16 working as a carpenters helper thru high school. After High School he joined Carpenters Local 132 in Washington Dc and went thru a extensive four year Carpenter;s Apprentiship program where he was awarded his Journeymans Card. He later became one of the Dc, Md, and Virginas leading Construction Superintendents receiving letters of recognition from well known companys such as Lockhead Martin, SAIC, Fairfax County Goverment, The Ford Motor Company and more. He decided to follow his dream of starting his own bussiness creating the Carlisle;s Home Improvement Company in the early 90's where he has been passing his 30 years of experience on to his customers. Carlisle's Home Improvement is dedicated to providing top quality work and total customer service while keeping our prices affordable.

We are very pleased with the work product.  Gary was personable and gave us a very fair and reasonable price.  We are thrilled with the end result and asked him to put tile down in our dining room.  I have yet to schedule a time for him to return to measure the area, but I am sure he will do quality work.  We will definitely call him again! They did an awesome job you can't tell that there was horrible water damage to a section at all. They also had it blended in just right when they applied the texture. They paid close attention to detail and always cleaned up promptly especially in the demo stage. He was friendly reliable and you could tell he was very knowledgeable about his trade. I like the fact that he never tried to up charge or add more things on. In fact he actually helped fix our attic door at no additional cost. He was very thorough and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his services. His work is top quality and you don't have to pay top price. His pricing is fair and doesn't leave you with a bad taste in your mouth like so many other contractors do! If we have any more jobs in the future we would use Gary and his crew again, in fact they'd be the first call we'd make.

The owner is very good at carpentry. His work at replacing the wood around a specific lower portion of the door frame was done very well and that was the most important part of the job in my opinion. There was a small portion of wood also replaced underneath a corner portion of our gutter. The price I was quoted assumed that much more wood would have to be replaced under the gutters. Most of the wood was found to be in good condition, however, and so some primer (which I provided) was simply splashed over the exposed wood. The price of the job did not change. My main concern was the constant lack of timeliness. He would say that he was going to come over, but simply wouldn't show. This happened many times. In all honesty, there were a few days when the weather was very cold, but I still should have received a call. I never knew when he was going to come to do the work. I also was very upset when he announced that he was done and wanted the final payment for his work. He had not finished the job as he promised and was going to simply take his money and leave. He came late and in a rush. We had discussed at the signing and several times afterward, that part of the job was to leave the door in a condition which would be paint ready. He hadn't done that. When I showed him all of the problems, he rushed to quickly fix them so he could leave.  I was dissatisfied with the condition in which he left my door.  I had to fix the door myself after he left before I painted it. He is a good carpenter. But I wasn't happy with his reliability or quality of other work.

Mr. Carlisle did an outstanding job with repairing water damage to our ceiling in an upstairs bathroom.  He cut out the damaged drywall, replaced the damaged section and painted it.  The bathroom ceiling looks brand new, and you can't tell where the seams are between old and new drywall.  He also fixed some foam board in our attic which had been damaged by a wasp nest.  Very awesome service, we will definitely use him again!

Due to the weather my gate outside got thrown open breaking some of the hinges.  I have a dog, so I needed to fix it right away.

I called Gary explain my situation and even though he was busy, he was able to squeezed me into his schedule.  He came by gave me an estimate and was here the following day just like he said and fix my gate.  He did a great job!  Gary is very courteous

and professional.  In the future if I ever need any repairs done in my house he'll be the guy I'll call for his great service and professionalism.  Thank you Gary.

Gary was great, we'd receive an appraisal and there were a few things that needed to be fixed before we could close. Gary came out the same day provided an estimate and also noticed some other minor things, we contacted two other handymen but Gary's estimate was the lowest. He came out on Thursday started the work and completed it on Friday. The appraiser came out on Monday and passed us with flying colors. Gary not only provided the service that we asked for but he made sure that the surface was sanded smooth and that everything matched. He suggested that we use a different material and explained that with the wood we would have to replace again in few years because of the exposure to the elements. He noticed a chip in another window that the appraiser hadn't noticed and he fixed that as well without hiking up the price. He called when the work was done to make sure that it was up to our standards he also ensured us that if for any reason we did not pass inspection he would be standing by to repair any problem areas. We will defiantly be calling Gary by the end of this month for a few other repairs.

The repairs were completed to our satisfaction and in the timeframe we originally discussed during the original site survey.  Although there were some unknown items discovered during the repair, the repair team was able to identify the problem and develop a solution to correct the issues to our satisfaction.  Once completed, we have since been able to have the door installed with no further issues.

We were extremely happy with the work performed.  Gary was very responsive and professional from the first phone call all the way to the end to make sure we were satisfied with the final work product.  The work was scheduled and performed in a short manner but with clear agreement on the time frame and no major delays.  Calls were made both mornings prior to arrival.  The crew was kind and respectful. Gary answered the phone promplty on Sunday evening when I called the given number. He stated that he could come by the very next day to give a free estimate. Gary showed up on time and looked over the work to be done. Gary provided an estimate, after pricing out the cost of materials, and provided this estimate the very same day. This was important to me because I am in a hurry to complete the work so I may list my house. I found the estimate to be reasonable based on the cost of materials, $80 and the time alotted to complete the work, about 6 hours.
Gary was able to start and finsih the job by Wednesday- only three days after I first contacted him! I returned home from work to find the job complete, neat and all debris removed.
I will certainly use Gary's services again and have already recommended him to another individual.!

Gary did a great job repairs the several issues we found due to a leak below my upstairs door (second level). Gary and his team arrived on time  and were very professional. He showed me the things he found that were wrong kept me informed on how the project was going. He did several small jobs other than my floor/Door and didn't charge me for the extra work. Dry wall patching was awesome, better than the original work. 
With his 30 years of experience, he offered good professional advice and also gave me options for a way ahead with the project. HIs pricing was very competitive and he a provided great quality work. Excellent customer service Flexible to get job done Readily available worked with my schedule, I am throughly impressed with the work performed. The door and floor look great, he went above and beyond! I will have Gary back around to do more owrk in the future and I also recommend Gary's work.

I contacted Gary on a Friday and asked for an estimate to repair our ceiling in our finished basement.  It had sustained water damage from a leak in the powder room on the floor above.  He called me back right away and came out the same day to give me an estimate.  He fairly negotiated a price with my husband and we agreed on a deal.  He let us know that he would be out to do the repairs either Monday or Tuesday and promised to let us know.  We got a call on Monday morning and he said he'd be out on Tuesday morning to fix the ceiling.  He arrived Tuesday morning around 10 after first calling to say he was on his way and about 10 minutes out.  Once here he and Kevin were polite and respectful of my home.  They covered the floor with tarps to keep the area clean and worked quickly to fix the area.  It was finished within 2 1/2 hours and done well!  I payed him for half the job and promised to complete the payment when he returned the next day to paint.  He called on Wednesday morning to let me know he was on his way and arrived and again quickly got to the job of painting the ceiling and crown moulding.  The job was completed and I am very happy with the results. I even had him give my an estimate to replace my master bathroom flooring with tile.   So obviously I am happy with his work and would gladly hire him again to complete projects around my home.
