"Pipe Doctor did a great job. Adam was very knowledgeable in advising us about options for the toilet and in installing the water heater. Especially appreciated was his flexibility to review options even while he was buying the fixture, and also willingness to stop by one evening on short notice when we had an urgent time that needed attention."

"I contacted Granite Vision and spoke with Roni, explaining that because the vanity was in an awkward place in this small bathroom, I needed help to decide what was required. Joseph and another member came within a couple of days to assess the situation, make recommendations, and take measurements. Joseph then emailed pictures of various granite slabs since I was unable to get to their site, and within a week his team installed the top, offset sink, and my faucet. Both their installer and plumber readily answered all questions. Also, because I have add'l bathroom remodeling to do, I asked Joseph for any recommendations he may have for providers with whom he's worked who do smaller jobs and are good. He did make some recommendations and responded quickly to any questions I had regarding these providers. I highly recommend Granite Vision not only for the quality of their product but also for their professionalism and support."

"It went very well. When removing the old floor tiles, they found considerable damage to the sub floor. Mike showed us ans explained how he would replace it. It required extra labor. Also, when the work was completed, Mike tested the faucet in the new sink and discovered a leak. This was at the end of a 10-hour day. I appreciated the fat that he stayed and made sure the work and Ray did was to our satisfaction. They also custom-fit the vanity for us, which required adding pieces to the sides and the bottom. They are great to work with!"

"Carlos checked and informed me I didn't need work done on two of my issues.  He also installed a faucet which he estimated to be a 45 minute job.  Even though the job ended up being more complicated than he thought, and it took him longer than he thought it would, he charged me nothing extra.  Great workmanship by a trustworthy plumber!

"I have invested in residential real estate for more than 30 years.  Renovating kitchens and bathrooms has been a regular part of the marketing process.  Since Stone Depot opened 6 years ago, I have relied on them to complete 15 or more such projects.  In each case, Nick Pappas, the owner and every member of his team, have consistently demonstrated a degree of professional concern, attention to detail, and quality control that always met or exceeded my demanding expectations.  And I have never experienced shoddy workmanship, cost overruns, or scheduling problems.  Indeed, when a project presented a special challenge such as an unusually small space or imperfectly constructed walls, Nick actually supervised the cabinet or counter installation.  I would strongly recommend Stone Depot to anyone planning such a project.  L. "We prepurchased a special for an inspection and water heater flush. It took a couple of tries to get that scheduled. But we needed a pressure valve installed so we hired him to come back and do that, which went great"

"Pablo arrived a little later than the appointment time, but he was polite and professional, and still completed the project on time. The tub looks amazing, the caulk is perfect. There is some residue left on the bronze piping that I can't wash off yet without damaging the glaze. I'm hoping it's easy to clean up. He did put up a protective sheet to protect the house, it probably would have been worthwhile if he also covered the shower hardware. I wasn't expecting the exhaust tube to run through the house to the front door, but he said the bathroom window was too close. It made sense when I saw the equipment, it was just unexpected. He laid down a cloth to protect the wood floors. All in all, good service, good price, and I would hire again."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Depending on the issue, you have a good shot at fixing a leaking sink yourself. If you have some plumbing experience or are comfortable with DIY jobs, you can clean the P trap, tighten nuts, replace washers, and replace shut-off valve stems on your own. For more complicated jobs, such as repairing a garbage disposal, calling a pro may be the way to go.

There are several types of sink drain stoppers, including pull-out, twist-and-pull, and pop-up. Pull-out sink stoppers can be removed by pulling on the stopper until it comes out of the drain. A twist-and-pull design requires lifting then turning the stopper to lock it in an open position and the opposite action (turning, then pressing down) to close it. A pop-up sink stopper works by pushing down the drain cover to open or close the passageway.

If your sink is on an exterior wall that isn’t insulated, or if pipes travel through a cabinet against an exterior wall that prevents heated air from circulating around the pipes, the pipes can freeze, causing them to burst. The best way to avoid leaking sinks is to insulate the pipes and open cabinets in the short term to warm the water line up and prevent freezing.

The biggest sign that your flange leaks is if you notice water at the base of the toilet. The cause is likely due to a poor flange installation, so you might have issues with loose bolts, an uneven flange, or a cracked plastic flange. Add a deteriorating wax seal to this, and you have a recipe for disaster. The best solution is to shut off the water valve, replace the toilet flange, and seal it with a new wax ring.

Try to tighten the clevis crew and adjust the lift rod if your sink stopper won’t stay up. Sometimes your screws became too loose over time, and as a result, there wasn’t enough resistance to keep the sink stopper up. If a damaged lift rod is the cause of the problem, you will need to replace it with a new rod.
