"My husband asked that I call a plumbing services to locate a D box on a job site. He told me companies not to call and just pick a good one. I searched the internet and chose Rooter Man by their ratings and location. My husband and I could not have been more pleased. From the kind customer service of Jennifer and the diligent, prompt and thorough work of Mr. Jones and his partner. We were so impressed we had them pump our home tank. Again, we received the same excellent customer service from the same individuals. This company is top notch! In a world where people are to busy to be kind and care about customer service, this company is the opposite and should be considered the gold standard for others to immolate!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We called 10 Plumbers before we found Paul. He was the only one willing to quote a price on the phone. He came the same day, fixed it in less than an hour. 40 years experience, completely reasonable prices. Other companies want to send a technician but would not quote a price, either for the job or by the hour. Turns out several of them change many hundreds of dollars an hour. Paul is the way to go."

"We had a leak under our kitchen sink, after having a not so pleasant experience with one of the larger companies in our area I decided to try someone different. I called Miller Plumbing Solutions, Tyler was the technician that came out. He gave us a couple of different options on how to rectify our issue and the work was completed same day. I will be calling Miller Plumbing Solutions again and do recommend you ask for Tyler. Affordable pricing and good all around experience."

"Excellent service! They were able to come out the day I called to evaluate our well that evening. They were able to a**** the problem and detect exactly what the root cause instead of masking it with a water filtration system as another professional had recommended. Dexter's plumbing went above & beyond helping us and we greatly appreciate it. We highly recommend them."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

According to the EPA, there is no safe level of lead in the blood, and so the maximum contaminant level goal (MCLG) for lead in water is zero. Even at low levels, lead is harmful to human health. It can also remain in the body and build up over time with repeated exposure.

No, a larger well pressure tank will not increase your home's water pressure by itself. Water pressure is determined by the pressure control switch on the well pump.

However, a larger tank does offer other benefits. It can store more water, which allows you to run water for longer periods before the pump needs to turn on. This reduces how often the pump cycles on and off, leading to less wear and tear on the pump and the entire well system. Consequently, a larger tank can help extend the life of your equipment and may prevent future pump issues that could affect water pressure.

If your goal is to increase water pressure, consider these alternatives:

  • Adjust the pressure settings on your tank to a higher PSI (pounds per square inch).

  • Replace your current pump with a model that has a higher flow rate, measured in gallons per minute (GPM).

  • Have a professional install a water pressure booster pump in your plumbing system.

  • If you experience pressure fluctuations, consider upgrading to a constant pressure system.

No, you can’t convert a gravity-flush toilet to a pressure-assist toilet. Pressure-assist toilets include a tank-within-the-tank, and a standard gravity-flush toilet doesn’t have a capability to include the additional tank. If you want the benefits of a pressure-assist toilet, you’ll have to make the investment in a new one.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

Check your basement floor. There’s usually a covered panel in the floor. The valve could also be near a sump pump. If you don’t have a basement, look near your water meter. You may see a rectangular or round cover, which is often clear (allowing you to easily see inside), over the valve.
