"It went great. They were able to do a whole house interior in 5 days. This included some drywall repairs and a few other small repairs. Just for reference Two Koats Painting said they would take 2 weeks and cost more. As long as the customer isn't passive and mentions what they want, they will get the exact product they asked for. So don't be afraid to speak up! The painters get very generalized instructions so if you are there, be sure to point out any specific items that you want done."

"R & B Painting did an excellent job on painting outside windows and soffit on my home. They also painted my front door and a piece of wood on the roof. They cleaned up afterward. I would highly recommend R & P Painting. I will use their services in the future."

"Sandy’s team did a great job. They arrived on time, as scheduled, did high quality work and cleaned up when finished. If you are looking for a painting contractor, I’d recommend you include them on the list of contractors you consider."

"Splash of Colors painted our house interior, including cathedral ceilings, stairwells, and ceilings. They helped with color suggestions and paint advice. Work was completed professionally and efficiently in one day, including preparation and cleanup. Great attention to detail. And they are the nicest and most caring people you will ever work with. We are thrilled with the results. Highly recommend their services."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Very prompt and professional. When my old paint wasn't still suitable the painter went out and purchased another gallon and passed on their discount to me. He was able to paint the wall and ceiling above the stairs which is tricky (hence why I called them) and did a very good job. He also was able to sand and caulk around an old window for painting."

Customers say: True professional

"From our first meeting to the project being completed, everything was handled very efficiently and with attention to detail. We were extremely impressed with how fast the crew moved. They painted the entire interior of our house, from ceiling to trim, in two days. Even requests to paint banisters and remove popcorn ceilings were handled beautifully. We had a very positive experience and were very happy with the results!"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

You can apply waterproofing over paint, but you won't get as much protection as you would if you painted the surface with a waterproof paint from the get-go. Not all waterproofing methods are compatible with painted surfaces, and they may not adhere well. This is especially true if the paint is glossy, old, or flaking. Waterproofing sealers are primarily meant to be applied to porous surfaces, like concrete, wood, or brick.

A natural paint remover for metal is a solution of 16 parts water and one part baking soda or vinegar. When heated on your stovetop, these non-toxic household items combine into a highly effective solution that can be used to remove paint from small metal objects with tricky nooks and crannies.

Sandblasting is a common method for removing paint. It works great if the underlying material is tough. This is because you can then use more abrasive sandblast materials, making the paint removal process much faster and less expensive. If you plan on removing many layers of paint on smooth surfaces, you’ll need to be more careful about which materials you choose to use to sandblast.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

The most common reason paint peels is because moisture gets trapped underneath it and disrupts its bond with the wall. Other causes for peeling paint include a poor original paint job, painting over a surface with dirt or other foreign material on it, or applying paint coats that are too thick.
