"Project turned out excellent. Troy started by producing a detailed design drawing, allowing me to quickly gain approval from my HOA for the modifications. He then began work, identifying areas where previous builders of my deck had cut corners. Troy was able to remediate these issues as part of the project (installing missing flashing between the deck and the house, adding footers). He made several suggestions along the way to ensure excellence in the finished product. He has high standards in his craftsmanship, and it shows."

"Paul came on time and had all his tools ready to remove and install a microwave over the range. I couldn't have handle it myself. I can't believe he lifted both by himself. He was very skilled at measuring for the new install. Even though it was the same model, it did require new holes being drilled. I did have a vent option available and after installing for the vent he found it wouldn't line up well. He offered to fix the vent itself to line it up, but for time concerns I went with the ventless option. He did say if I wanted to change he would come back to do it. I am very happy with everything. Can't say enough about his skill set. I have a couple of things to get done by Spring and no doubt will give Paul a call. If you need a handy man for projects give him a call. You'll be glad you did."

"We needed present closet racks removed and raised so we could put in a second lower rack underneath Nicolle was quick to respond and offer her services. She came out the same day to look at the project and determine what we needed. Once the supplies were delivered she promptly and efficiently installed and also repaired holes and cleaned up. We would definitely use her again and have already recommended her to neighbors."

"Travis is great at communicating and responding quickly to messages. He fixed 2 of our pocket doors today and did an excellent job. He put the trim back up after the job was done AND repainted the trim!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Smoke detectors come in two different options: hardwired or battery-operated. While hardwired units are attached directly to the home’s electrical system, a battery-operated smoke detector only needs a simple battery for operation and can be placed virtually anywhere in your home. Some homeowners may mistakenly think their battery-operated units are hardwired in because all their units are interconnected, but many battery-operated units can operate within a smoke alarm network in your home.

To ensure the safety and longevity of your pre-fabricated fireplace, perform regular maintenance. This includes regular cleaning, checking the unit for cracks, and ensuring the venting and ventilation systems are clear and functioning properly. Additionally, scheduling professional inspections helps ensure safe operation.

Yes, it is generally safe to have a fire pit on a deck, but you must adhere to building codes and take several safety precautions. For both built-in and freestanding models, you must use a heat-resistant barrier, such as a fire pit pad or heat shield, between the pit and the deck. Additionally, consider the weight of the fire pit and ensure your deck can structurally support it, reinforcing it if necessary. The fire pit must also be positioned a safe distance from your house, particularly from materials like vinyl siding, to prevent heat damage.

Short circuits can cause fires, electrical burns, and electrocution, which can lead to serious injury or even death. That’s why it’s important to take preventative measures to prevent short circuits, like getting annual electrical maintenance and an electrical inspection every two to five years, depending on the age of your home.

No, it is not safe to use an outlet that sparked. A spark from an outlet could indicate a short circuit, loose or frayed wiring, or other serious damage. Continuing to use an outlet that sparks can increase the risk of electrical shock, electrical fires, and other hazards. It's important to turn off the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker if possible and avoid using the outlet until a licensed electrician has inspected and repaired it.
