"Paul came on time and had all his tools ready to remove and install a microwave over the range. I couldn't have handle it myself. I can't believe he lifted both by himself. He was very skilled at measuring for the new install. Even though it was the same model, it did require new holes being drilled. I did have a vent option available and after installing for the vent he found it wouldn't line up well. He offered to fix the vent itself to line it up, but for time concerns I went with the ventless option. He did say if I wanted to change he would come back to do it. I am very happy with everything. Can't say enough about his skill set. I have a couple of things to get done by Spring and no doubt will give Paul a call. If you need a handy man for projects give him a call. You'll be glad you did."

"We needed present closet racks removed and raised so we could put in a second lower rack underneath Nicolle was quick to respond and offer her services. She came out the same day to look at the project and determine what we needed. Once the supplies were delivered she promptly and efficiently installed and also repaired holes and cleaned up. We would definitely use her again and have already recommended her to neighbors."

"Awesome job assembling office chairs, bed frames, mattresses and dressers. All pieces are assembled correctly and are solid. I would recommend for this and other projects. He arrived on time and was very fair on the price. 5 stars all around."

"Audi is a professional and reliable person. He is fair, on time, and very clear. He explains options for assembling furniture and, in his example, a dehumidifier. He put careful thought into the best option for me when assembling furniture and the dehumidifier. Another project was the removal of an old satellite dish. Beautifully done. He tidies up when he’s done and organizes the extra tools, pieces, etc."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

DIY cleaning is possible, but professionals ensure thorough soot removal and check for hazardous creosote buildup.

Although no heating appliance can be entirely risk-free, a fireplace insert is considered a safer alternative to a traditional open fireplace, thanks to their enclosed design. With a sealed combustion chamber, a fireplace insert effectively reduces the risk of sparks and embers escaping into the room, minimizing the chance of an accidental fire.

Additionally, an insert comes equipped with various safety features, such as tempered glass doors that create a barrier between the flames and the surrounding space. This enhances both safety and energy efficiency by preventing heat loss. As an added bonus, many inserts are designed to meet strict safety standards that ensure proper ventilation and combustion.

You don’t have to put smoke detectors in every room. At a minimum, though, there should be one on every level of your home, one in every bedroom, and one in the hallways outside the bedrooms. If you have a floor without bedrooms, place a smoke detector in the living room or next to any stairs that lead to an upper level. Attics and basements should also have at least one smoke alarm.

You should schedule a fireplace inspection at least once a year, per the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). However, this is the minimum requirement even if you’re diligent with fireplace maintenance between uses. If you suspect your fireplace is malfunctioning, schedule one sooner to avoid fire hazards or the release of harmful emissions like carbon monoxide in your home.

There are several strategic ways to lower your home insurance premium. The primary one is to shop around and get quotes every few years to make sure you’re getting the best deal. Also, sometimes bundling your auto and homeowner’s insurance will get you a discount on both. Finally, try to keep your credit score up; many homeowner insurance companies use credit scores to generate quotes.
