"Great company. Excellent customer service and superior quality of work. Called them for a short-fused water damage job and they bent over backwards to fit me in. They also swapped out a couple of bad deck boards with the job. Solid pricing too. I would definitely use them again. Thank you Tidewater Pro Build"

"I experienced serious water damage in my condominium from faulty pipes in an adjoining unit last year. The water had been leaking for some time and damaged walls and floors in the kitchen and guest bathroom next door. It is the type of incident that can quickly become a nightmare and required remediation and significant work. I selected Titan Contracting because Erik Quam was highly recommended. He followed-up with me quickly and provided a detailed, comprehensive estimate. The work was fairly extensive and included hanging and finishing drywall in the kitchen, hallway and guest bathroom, as well as removing and replacing underlayment and subfloor. His team did a very nice job with the flooring, including laying tile in the kitchen and both bathrooms. The quality and professionalism of the work were really excellent and I adapted the work requirements and had the Titan team complete the other work I had planned for the unit, including: fixing all the kitchen cabinets/hinges/ drawers, install new kitchen appliances (including a dishwasher) and rework the guest bath with a new vanity. Later his team came back and rebuilt the second floor deck on short notice was well. Mr. Quam and his team were flexible with scheduling and handling the communications and coordination very effectively. They did a first-class job completing the work at a very reasonable price. Mr. Quam ensured that everyone involved understood the process, the scope of work, and the parts and labor involved. Very transparent and skilled professional. I highly recommend Titan Contracting."

Small jobs welcome

"Marcus is very professional. He went beyond my expectations. Also very fair price for as much as he did to resolve our drainage issue. He even gave us some tips on how to keep our system running efficiently. Thank you Marcus for working a miracle on our 60 plus year old system."

"Outstanding. I asked for and got Karl as my 'handyman.' I had used him before (1-2 years ago) and he was excellent then and was (again) today! Karl is the best...on time, courteous and professional. He works steadily and effectively (so as to get it right the first time), while wasting no time. Money well spent, especially since he was able to repair two (2) plumbing issues I had (which I thought I might need to hire a plumber to fix)."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Older faucet fixtures may have some corrosion, leaving them stuck. Try a few techniques to loosen the fixtures.

  • Wrap the fixture with a towel and tap the base with a hammer.

  • Use a putty knife to gently remove any caulk that may be holding the handle or fixture in place.

  • Apply a few drops of penetrating oil around the base of the fixture or around the nuts.

  • Purchase a faucet pulling tool to pop the fixture loose.

The normal water level in a toilet bowl is about halfway full. The water should sit above the P trap drain because this creates a seal and suction. When you flush the toilet, the suction keeps sewer gases from entering your house through your toilet. Anytime the water level is higher or lower than half full, you need to make adjustments or replace broken parts.

Yes, flushing a clogged toilet can make it overflow. While flushing the toilet may push enough pressure through the system to dislodge the clog, this is unlikely. Your best bet is to use a plunger and hope the suction can break up whatever is blocking the pipe. If this doesn’t work, use a plumbing auger or call a pro to help.

Yes, before you can connect to a public sewer, you must gain permission from the water company near you. You'll also need to ensure that you comply with local regulations prior to connecting to a public sewer line. Apply to your local water authority by looking at their website for an application or by giving them a call to have your home ready for a seamless sewer line connection.

Shut-off valves, like any other piece of metal hardware, can corrode, age, get worn down, and eventually break or rust into place. Occasionally spray your shut-off valve with WD-40 to stall it from rusting. If it really gets stuck, a wrench and WD-40 will usually do the trick, but you will need to call a plumber if it’s completely unmovable.
