"Sofia Gick, Kaleb Lamonde, and Brandon Kennedy were excellent to work with. They were polite, respectful, knowledgeable about their work and gave great communication throughout the whole job. And...they even were able to complete all the work that was scheduled in 3 days instead of the 4 days we were expecting. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend this team."

Radon Repair offers two services for home owners. First off we can let you know if your home has a high Radon level through testing your home. Most people wait until they sell their home and a home inspection is done where a high Radon level is detected and it has to be mitigated before the sale of the house. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in America according to the EPA so why wait till you sell your house? Secondly, we offer the Mitigation for your home and that typically involved removing the Radon from under your home before it has a chance to enter. This is called Sub-Slab-Depressurization and is very affordable.

"David Rushton was extremely helpful and responsive in providing information about his services, and in scheduling the inspection. He arrived on time, and provided an extremely thorough and complete inspection, lasting several hours. He is very knowledgeable, and his inspection report was extensive and contained many photographs documenting his findings. It is possible to spend less money on an inspection, but if you want a thorough and revealing inspection, you will not be disappointed. I was also impressed by his background, training and education, and his participation at the state level with the recent move to home inspection licensing. I highly recommend Mr. Rushton for any home inspection project."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

Installing a mitigation system reduces radon levels, which can cause lung cancer, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits. It can also increase your home’s value, as many buyers prefer properties with radon safety measures in place. The investment is relatively low compared to the potential health risks associated with prolonged radon exposure.

You can buy DIY radon test kits from a home improvement store and conduct radon testing, but these tests are often inaccurate. No matter the result, you should supplement DIY testing with professional radon detection and analysis. DIYers only have access to passive radon tests, which aren’t as reliable as active tests that professionals use. Plus, it’s very easy for DIYers to make mistakes during testing, leading to inaccurate results. If you’re moving into a new home, have concerns about radon, or are due for an updated test, hire a professional.

It is possible to test for radon yourself using DIY radon test kits, but these at-home test kits should never be a replacement for professional radon testing. DIY test kits can provide some information about radon exposure in your house, but your indoor temperature and humidity can affect the results, as can improper usage of the test kit. You could save yourself some money by hiring a radon professional to begin with, and when it comes to your family’s safety, hiring an experienced professional to do the testing is usually the best option.

Through air sampling devices and surface swabs in key areas of concern.
