I purchased an Angie's Deal for carpet cleaning. I selected Ash Maids among the many different carpet cleaning offers because they were highly rated, and covered the biggest area for the lowest price, including halls, stairways, etc. (I had well under the maximum square footage). And while their deal only covered one staircase, and I had two, I was willing to pay the extra $35 for the second staircase above and beyond the $199 deal price (it still ended up a better price than most others, some of which didn't include any stairs at all). I purchased the deal a few months before I was planning on scheduling the cleaning, but didn't have a difficult time scheduling once I was ready in January.

On the day of service, Ash Maids' representative (1 person) showed up early in the morning, at the appointed time. I have a three story townhome, so he parked in the driveway and took the cleaning hose into the front door and up the stairs to all needed areas (there are carpeted areas on the first and third floors, and both staircases are carpeted. He spent a good amount of time going over everything. I had tried to move most small things off the floor, but he took care of moving anything else that was practical to move, which I appreciated. One small challenge was that the truck's tank didn't have enough water in it to cover the entire house, so I had to open up my outdoor faucet in the back of the house (I don't have one in the front). Since I had already shut off and drained the water for the winter, I had to turn it all back on again -- but that wasn't a big problem, just something to be aware of that you might need an extra water source for the cleaning.

Re: quality, I think they did a pretty good job overall, and I did notice some difference. But I'm a little disappointed that the carpets didn't look even better, especially since I had understood that Berber carpets supposedly clean up really nicely. Note that although I had never had the carpets cleaned before (they are 14 years old), we don't wear shoes in the house, have no pets or kids, and they didn't have any major stains or anything except normal wear and tear. And they are clean, but not "wow" clean.

Of course, because of the age of the carpets, I also did have those dark filtration stain lines near baseboards, and while I didn't have expectations that these would disappear entirely I'd hoped a professional cleaning would address those better, but they're mostly still there. :-)

Anyway, all in all, I'm glad I had it done, and would consider using Ash Maids again for carpet cleaning.
