"Our patio was to small and BORING! We saw American Custom Hardscapes working in the neighborhood and asked them to talk with us about our ideas. They came out and really helped us clarify our ideas. I thought there would be this long process to take out the old patio and get the new one poured, NO! One morning, old patio was there and that night a new amazing patio was there! A few days later after the concrete set up they finished the bench and lighting. We were very happy with their work, their team, their pricing, and most of all their product! We just love the new patio! Thank you American Custom Hardscapes!"

"We had requested several bids from various masonry contractors to suggest and submit bids for repairing and/or replacing damaged / deteriorating areas to a brick walkway, stairs, flagstone patio, brick/flagstone stairs and other hardscape areas for our 1950s ranch home. Mr. Ortez replied promptly to our request for a bid and a time was set for a meeting. He arrived on time and spent a good deal of time walking the property and making suggestions as to the best approach to repair areas to keep costs down without sacrificing quality and keep with the aesthetic of the current brickwork/materials in place. Mr. Ortez was professional and his bid was reasonable; he was our second choice to complete the work. We went with another contractor because that contractor met our expectations but at a lower cost. We should note that Mr. Ortez did not push us to tear out and completely rebuild all of the areas we wanted repaired for tens of thousands of dollars (as several had), nor was he willing to simply "patch and repair" as this would sacrifice the quality and the life expectancy of the areas in need of repair. His suggestions were good and reasonably priced. In the end we went with another contractor because their suggestions and bid was the best fit for our needs and expectations. I would definitely recommend inviting International Brick and Concrete for a bid on masonry/concrete work you are thinking of for your property."

At all points during the construction they provided answers to our questions and easily worked with us where minor design adjustments were requested. "I reached out to Cassella Landscaping to build a new retaining wall and patio in my back yard. I got estimates from six different companies before choosing Cassella. I will explain why I chose Cassella over the others, and why I am so glad I did. They were amazing! I did my research and read so many reviews. Cassella clearly had highly satisfied customers. Elijah, the owner, personally came out to talk to me about my project. From the start of my interaction with Elijah, I could tell this company was different. He listened to what I wanted done and my concerns about cost just like the other companies. But then what happened next was what made Elijah stand apart from the rest. I had made it clear that I was concerned about price and wanted options to consider how much of my project I could actually afford to do. He took the time to ask me questions to understand why I wanted this space, how I planned to use it, and which parts of the project were most important to me. And then he not only gave me options, he helped me refine my vision for the space to help me see what I could get done within my budget. He clearly cared enough to not just get the job, but to make sure I would be happy with the outcome. He was the only company who also told me that he would have one team working only on my project from start to finish. And he offered a warranty. The process of working with Elijah and his team was great all the way through. He answered all of my questions in a timely manner, and he communicated frequently. He had a team that was with my project from start to finish. They were hard workers, polite, and kept everything as clean as possible throughout. They cleaned up everything at the end, as well. They started when they said they would, and they completed the project right on schedule. The final project looks amazing. I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to get my new patio furniture so that we can start enjoying this new space when the weather is nice. My finished project is a retaining wall (3 feet tall by 40 feet wide) and a patio (12x24 feet) with beautiful pavers on both. The landscaping around the wall and patio was just what I wanted with river rock and plants. He transplanted the young trees that I wanted to keep and helped me pick out plants for the rest of the project. I had not imagined including lighting, but Elijah suggested it, and the lighting is beautiful. I also had a walkway installed that matches the paver patio style. It all looks so great, I am very happy with it. I highly recommend Cassella Landscaping. Elijah and his team were such a pleasure to work with and the finished project looks amazing."

Yes, installing a patio will usually improve home value, as outdoor entertainment areas are usually quite desirable and make your home more visually appealing. A paver patio usually comes with an impressive ROI of around 80%, while concrete patios should fall between 60% and 70%. Paver patios are considered more desirable and valuable because most home buyers prefer how they look, and they won’t raise your property taxes as a permanent concrete patio would.
Most professionals will take two to three weeks to install a patio and return your yard to its previous condition. The timeline for your patio installation will depend on several factors, though, including landscaping features your installer needs to navigate around, the type of patio you’re having installed, and how long any add-ons, like outdoor kitchens, take to complete. The size of your patio will also play a role in how long it takes, so plan to keep pets and children out of your yard for longer if you’re installing an oversized patio.
The average cost of a paver patio is around $3,800 for a standard, 280-square-foot patio, but prices commonly range from $2,400 up to $7,000, depending on the size, the type of paver you choose, and any add-ons you opt for. The design and shape of your patio can also increase labor costs if your patio installer needs to cut curves in pavers or spend time arranging them in a specific pattern. Some additional costs to consider include site preparation and excavation, as well as additional materials, like concrete, crushed gravel, and drainage equipment.
Some types of patios—usually those that require a concrete foundation—will need permits, while others—like paver patios, which aren’t considered permanent additions—generally do not. However, there are exceptions based on the size of your patio and where you live. We recommend having a professional patio installer determine whether you need permits. Your installer will also be able to pull permits for you, saving you time and energy.
