"I had a small but complicated, hard to access, and structurally essential repair job on a 60-year-old concrete deck attached to my 280-year-old Pennsylvania limestone farmhouse. I contacted several masons listed for my area on Home Advisor, and included Mr. Grady as a long shot -- I read about his expertise with historical structures and wished I had access to such an expert craftsman, but I didn't think he'd be interested in my teeny job and assumed I wouldn't be able to afford him anyway. He was the first one to return my call and to look at the job, and I thought his price was fair. I believe now it was way more than fair, considering the time he spent. He did extensive research, going over a structural engineer's report I had done previously on the deck and even examining the original architectural drawings and materials invoices from 1959. He showed up at least three times to complete the repair in stages, and has been back a half a dozen times since then to check the job -- and my location is not exactly in his neighborhood. He accepted only enough payment in advance to pay for lodging for himself and his assistant when they stayed nearby one night in order to be there early the next morning. He gave and continues to give free advice about preserving my stone house and patio. If you prod him a little, he might even share some of his personal philosophy, earned over a lifetime of work that is clearly more of an art form than a job to him. Overall, I'd say you can hire one of many competent contractors and get an adequate job, or you can hire Mr. Grady and get superior work by someone who cares about your property as much as you do."

"I would definitely recommend Forever Concrete. Dave Anthony and Deon came to my house yesterday and proceeded to form and pour my patio slab, their performance, professionalism, answering any and all questions I had and their overall attitudes go far above what I expected. After 30 minutes it felt like I had known these guys for years. I will definitely be calling again when I get back in town to have another patio slab poured for another gazebo. I have already reached to several friends who are looking to have concrete work completed around homes and recommended FOREVER CONCRETE. You cannot ask for a better company to go with."

"Provider was suppose to return and finish laying sand on the patio. Since job was very close to complete, I paid him rather than wait. I never heard from him again. The sand has since washed out in spots and another provider is correcting the situation with polymeric sand. Other than the sand issue, the patio looks good in the way it is laid out. Provider was punctual, and the project went very fast considering it was in the middle of the winter.

"From the initial inquiry via Angie's List, to the visit from Chuck, our salesperson, to the installation and everything in between, I was pleased with the service that I received from American Jewel.  The customer service was responsive upon first inquiry and I received a call from somebody the same day.  When Chuck came to our house, he was knowledgeable and congenial and most of all, took the time to review all of our options and made sure our questions were answered.  He also measured and advised us that someone would call us to schedule an installer to come and re-measure before the windows and patio door were ordered.  We heard from someone the next day and within a week, the installer came to ensure accurate measurements and take photos.  We were told that once the windows were created, we would receive another call for an installation date.  I had changed the orientation of the patio door to open from left to right from the way the door was currently.  I was impressed to receive a call from the office to double-check the direction that I wanted the door because the photos had showed differently from what I ordered. I also received a call from Chuck advising that the door turned out to be a custom-size and it would be $200 extra.  He explained that was why they come back out and measure to make sure.  No problem.  About 2 weeks later, the installation day had arrived and the two guys that came were punctual and completed the job in one day as promised.  They cleaned up after themselves, removed all old windows and debris and reviewed the features of the windows and doors with me.  The quality of the windows are good for replacements and the door is solid as well.  I opted for the upgraded brushed nickel hardware which looks great.
One note to mention:  I did notice that the sash on one of the windows was bent and looked like it was damaged in transport.  The installer took note and wrote on my final bill that it would be replaced.  As of the writing of this, I haven't heard from anybody on the replacement piece, but given my overall experience so far, I have no worries that American Jewel will take care of it.

"We had Brick Solutions come out and give us an estimate on pouring an initial pad for our patio. Mr. Walls came out and was very professional and communicated every step of the process to us. He kept us fully involved in the process from start to finish. Because the work was exceptional and the price was the very competitive with the other contractors we decided to have Brick Solutions back out to finish out custom paver walk way from our house to the patio. While doing the work (at an exceptional level yet again) my wife begged me to have them finish an additional paver walk way to our pool. With Mr. Walls's extraordinary skill set, professionalism, and dedication to keep us 100% in the loop I decided to have him finish the job. Expecting it would be a few more weeks before he could come back out and finish, I was surprised when he was able to finish the entire project ahead of schedule. "It was good. There were certain things that weren't covered under the plan. I'm not sure if they cut the bushes down in the back around the fence. I had to pay extra for that. They should try get me to know the schedule so I know when they're coming and when they're not coming. Other than that, it takes time to get the workers together. I like Patrick and he's the owner. The thing in the firepit was included with the mulch but he said I had to pay for the materials."
