"The crew from Majestic worked very hard taking down our old pool in one day, cleaning up all debris, and hauling it away. They installed a new pool in two full days. The crew was meticulous w measuring, very polite and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. The pool is beautiful and we are very happy."

"Great experience with excellent service and results. Although a tough week to schedule a task such as this, with all the rain days. My concern wasn’t based on timing as much as quality of finished product. Stephanie demonstrated excellent customer service by maintaining continuous communication as to schedule updates. Her crew was courteous, efficient and thorough. The results are outstanding and I will definitely be using Aqua NoVa Restoration for future project needs."

"Jason Miller responded within minutes of my inquiry on HomeAdvisor. We set an appointment for later that evening. He was on tome and looked at the pool and made not an estimate but quoted a firm fair price price. He replaced the liner in our 27' above ground pool 2 days later. Time was critical to us since we had just discovered our old liner was ripped when we started to open the pool the day before. We had a pool party planned for my daughter's High School Graduation the following week. Our regular "go to" pool service provider could not complete the job in time. From now on Jason and his crew will be called for all work needed on our pool from now on. No more shopping around."

"Last fall we had our concrete pool deck restamped and colored. Since then we?ve had to tear up and repair part of our deck to replace pool pipes. Also, since then, old cracks have reappeared in other parts of the deck. V & A Concrete offered to repair cracks and caulk as needed, and paint the whole deck. The repaired portions of the deck would remain unstamped. The whole deck would be a uniform color. Their bid seemed to be high. It was over $5,000.00 and the painting would have prevented me from applying stamped concrete in the future. I would call them again if I decided to replace the whole deck, but probably not for repair to the type of deck we currently have."

"Boz was very helpful. He came out the very next day to fix my problem. I had an unusual bathroom that needed to have updated lighting in order to bring it up to code. He also grounded the hot tub connections so there will be no electrical dangers. I would definitely use them again."

"Hector, his brother Jose, and the entire crew were professional, friendly, and their prices were very reasonable. (I've learned over time that these are extremely rare traits for many businesses) The work that they did looks excellent, they offered creative solutions to some of the project's challenges, and they went above and beyond to deliver. I'd highly recommend them!

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

You cannot DIY a gunite pool—unless, of course, you’re a homeowner who happens to also be a professional pool installer. And even pros need to have experience with gunite pools, in particular, before installing one. Only a skilled gunite pool technician can install this type of pool—it’s not a project you can do yourself.

Generally speaking, you should expect to wait 24 to 48 hours after filling a pool before you use it. However, the actual timeline depends on a few factors. Most importantly, you need to shock the water with chlorine or an alternative to swimming pool chlorine and let the concentration come down to a safe level before using the pool. Additionally, most water sources will be cold, and it can take days before the sun or your pool heater warms your water to a comfortable temperature. Alternatively, getting water professionally delivered could have you swimming in just a few hours.

Round and freeform pools are popular choices for a small backyard, although a small yard may be able to accommodate a variety of shapes. When planning a pool for your small yard, remember to take into account pool deck space, fencing requirements, and other pool-related factors that may limit your choices.

Yes, you can put too much shock in a pool, and it is crucial to follow the directions on the product you are using. Adding excess shock can upset the chemical balance, make the water cloudy, have adverse effects on swimmers, damage pool equipment or surfaces, and even encourage certain types of algae to grow. If you have over-shocked your pool, perform a water test and adjust the chemicals as necessary. The pool's chemical balance will eventually return to normal as the excess chlorine dissipates over time.

It depends. Your pool might need chlorine every day if the water is exposed to direct sunlight and you use your pool frequently. UV light and constant use will deplete chlorine levels more rapidly. Test your water regularly to see where your levels sit and adjust accordingly. Generally speaking, most homeowners need to add chlorine following a water chemical test about one to three times per week.
