We got 2 separate estimates that came in almost identical in price, so we were comfortable we were well within the industry standard for this type of work. "They found the cut-off under my house, but told me that the law required me to have it near the dishwasher. They installed the new valve. In the meantime, they discovered lots of badly corroded pipes throughout my kitchen and basement. They replaced the pipes and also replaced my hot water heater, also badly corroded. Although this was very costly (more than I had ever planned to spend), I could see that the corrosion was bad, and i was glad that they had noticed the problems and moved to take care of them before pipes burst and I had a damaged house to deal with. They also did a couple of small things for which they did not charge."
