"Garcia Fence did a great job on our small backyard fence project for our new puppy Izzy. Frank and Derrick were very responsive to our questions and requirements. They made sure the fence did not have any gaps or areas for our little escape artist to test her skills. They used premium materials and the workmanship was top notch. We had a tricky area for them to navigate due to multiple, power, internet and drainage obstacles."

"Joe was very prompt in his response. Very courteous and professional and absolutely affordable. While my son decided to not pursue the work to be done, I will definitely reach out to Joe for future needs."

"Provider was suppose to return and finish laying sand on the patio. Since job was very close to complete, I paid him rather than wait. I never heard from him again. The sand has since washed out in spots and another provider is correcting the situation with polymeric sand. Other than the sand issue, the patio looks good in the way it is laid out. Provider was punctual, and the project went very fast considering it was in the middle of the winter.

"They are excellent. They were so good, we ended up hiring them to put in hardwood floors, they painted all of upstairs, remodeled the entire kitchen, and they replaced some tile in our ceiling. We have been hiring them over the course of two years and they have been excellent. We highly recommend them to our friends all the time and we will be hiring them again."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

A fence installer or homeowner should place a snow fence upwind of the desired drift area, while keeping the prevailing wind direction in mind. When installing a snow fence, its posts should be sturdy, as they will be the weakest areas in terms of tensile strength. Posts should be buried at one-third their height and placed no more than eight feet apart.

The depth of your post hole depends on your post length. If you decide on a two-rail fence, the posts are likely 6 feet long. You want your hole to be at least 1/3 of the post length. In this case, your post hole should be two feet deep.

If you opt for a three-rail fence, the posts will typically be 7 feet long, meaning your post hole should be 28 inches deep.

Costs depend on material quality, fence length and height, installation complexity, and customization choices, but they average $20-$40 per linear foot.

Determining the best type of fence to contain your pet can be tricky. Consult a pet fence installer and consider the following questions:

  • What size pet do you have? Some fence types, like chain link, are too short to contain large dogs.

  • Is digging an issue? Some fences, like brick or stone, help minimize digging at the fence line, where wood fences aren’t as adequate.

  • Do you need to block your pet’s view of the neighbor's yard? Some fences, like metal iron fencing and chain link, don’t offer an obstructed view.

A fence post set in concrete lasts anywhere from five to over 25 years, depending on how well the concrete was applied and the fence post’s material. Untreated wood posts in concrete could last less than 10 years, but a durable, treated wood set in properly applied concrete could last a few decades. However, all fence posts will wear out eventually, so expect to need to replace your fence post every five to 15 years.
