"I had solar panels installed by SunPower's subcontractor Hooked on Solar in 2020. In 2023 some of the panels were damaged by an electrical outage and surge. It took about 4 months for Hooked on Solar to identify the damaged panels, schedule an appointment to replacement, but finally they fixed the panels."

"The Solar panels was installed on a ground mount.
It was a design that I could use the space underneath for storage.  I did not want a metal system so Renewable
Engineered Systems; built a solar racking system from high end wood, designed
for boats. It was creatively built and they cleaned up all around.

Job site was left clean. System works great.

"Very good, almost great. The install team arrived on time, confirmed work order & started the job. In about 4.5 hrs, power was applied & we started to get heat. A quick overview of the HAVC system was given, balance paid all questions answered and there were smiles on most faces. The sales person described the operation of the new HAVC to be quieter than current system and it is. However, the term quieter was not expressed in db difference so a service tech came out and was able to discuss the issue. The whole evolution was a positive event and we will gladly refer Orbit Energy & Power LLC, as a HAVC company that I will work with again."

"Ferguson Home Improvements did a fantastic job.  All the work that needed to get done, was finished beyond my expectations.  The workers were very friendly.  The job took a little longer that expected, but Ferguson Home Improvements were not at fault, the weather played a major factor with the deck stain and door installation.  At the time the work was getting done, we received a lot of rain and storms.  All in all, I would highly recommend Ferguson Home Improvements.

Why shell out thousands of dollars for rooftop solar when you can get the same benefits from community solar. It’s a simple, efficient, and smart alternative to rooftop solar. The only difference is that power is produced on a local solar farm, where it sends the energy back to the grid, reducing the resilience of fossil fuels.\n\nStill sold on rooftop solar? Consider this: \n• If you are doing it to save the planet, go with the community solar. Supporting a community solar provider like Nautilus will expand their network, making it cheaper for everyone and reach even better economies of scale.\n• If you are doing it to save yourself money, go with the community solar. It’s much cheaper for them to produce and you’ll get a discount of 10% or more on your electricity bill.\n• If you are doing it as an investment in your house, go with community solar. Unlike rooftop solar, which could be a net-negative when you sell your home in 10 years – especially if you haven't factored in ongoing maintenance costs – community solar avoids these pitfalls. \n\nToday's cost of money vs tomorrow's cost of solar is a short-investor's bet.\nMore reasons to consider ‘roofless’ community solar over solar panel installation: \n• No costly upfront expenses\n• No ongoing maintenance costs\n• No monthly or annual fees \n• No roof needed (renters and business are also welcome)\n\nSeem too good to be true? It’s not. Community solar programs are state-approved to help residents save on their electric bills and support the clean energy revolution. Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Yes, going solar really saves money. In fact, according to some calculations, the average homeowner who switches from electric to solar power will save almost $2,000 a year on energy costs. While buying solar panels and switching to solar can be costly up front, the savings add up over time. If you can sell back extra energy or take advantage of tax incentives, your savings can be even higher.

While you can minimally overshoot the number of solar panels you need for your home, it's not smart to go too far. Not only is the extra cost unnecessary, but your state may put caps on how much energy your home can produce and send back to the grid. It is always best to work with a solar energy professional to determine the best system size for you.

It’s possible that installing solar panels can lead to mold on the roof. The panels themselves are not the issue. Problems caused by improper installation—such as roof leaks and mounts that aren’t sealed properly—can cause mold. Another potential cause of mold is debris accumulation under panels, which can trap moisture. If you live somewhere with extreme snow, rain, or hail, your home could be more prone to mold.

The best solar panels to withstand hail are those rated UL 61730. These solar panels are certified to withstand hailstones up to 3 inches in diameter and travel at speeds up to 88 mph. IP68 solar panels are the next most resilient solar panel. Solar panels without these ratings can handle hail up to 1 inch in diameter that travels up to 50 miles per hour. If you live in an area with frequent or severe hailstorms, purchasing UL 61730 solar panels is often worth the investment.

You shouldn’t hook up a solar panel directly to a battery. That can damage the solar battery and your appliances over time. Instead, install a charge controller between your solar panel and solar battery. Charge controllers regulate voltage, prevent overcharging, and minimize the amount of electrical current to protect your battery from voltage spikes.
