"We used Salt City for our custom closet build. Marinda and her team we incredible. Marinda is incredibly knowledgeable about Closets. The other companies we talked to just put together what felt like a cookie cutter design. Marinda asked US what we needed in our space and then created something that fits our needs perfectly. Highly recommend."

"I had about 200ft of baseboards and a ~3x3? tile entryway installed. Carlos is friendly, incredibly fast, and independent. He only needed to ask me a few design questions but otherwise he solved every issue he came across. His prices were very fair and overall I?m very pleased. There were some corners cut here and there, some evidence of poor measuring and maybe less attention to detail. But if you need work done fast and affordable and looking great on the surface, Carlos is your man."

"Project was to extend existing deck to enable a hot tub install. Included digging and pouring footings, framing deck, reinforcing joists, laying additional decking, installing 12x12 posts and railing. Dan was excellent in all aspects - clear communication, upfront pricing/quotes, excellent work. We decided to do this late in the season - Dan made it happen. Could not be more pleased with how it turned out."

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

A few signs that you need a new door frame include:

  • The door no longer fits properly in its frame and sticks or scrapes.

  • You notice cracks, holes, or rotting.

  • You feel a draft coming from around the door when it’s closed.

  • You find yourself frequently needing to make repairs.

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

Proper Murphy bed installation minimizes the risk of wall damage. A secure attachment requires making some holes for anchors or brackets, but these can be easily patched if the bed is removed. To ensure the installation is done correctly and safely, hiring a professional is recommended, especially if you have limited DIY experience.

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.
