Small jobs welcome

"He saved our home! We were having electrical issues (blinking lights). He methodically checked circuits and quickly diagnosed the problem. While showing us the problem the electrical panel suddenly sparked and caught fire. There are so many great things to say about Cole. 1. He was recommended by the company that inspected our home. 2. Cole is honest!!! 3. He can handle all jobs. 4. He is prompt and each customer is a priority. Knowing Cole is addressing an issue brings us great confidence that we are safe!!! We are now using him for a home renovation. You deserve the best. If you get on his schedule consider yourself lucky."

Customers say: Quick response

"I am pleased to provide a review for Jason and the team at Sewell Electric for their excellent work on my recent recessed lighting project. From the beginning, Jason was prompt in responding to my request for a project quote. He was able to come out the following day for a free consultation and quote, which was a great price compared to other electricians I had contacted. I was impressed with how quickly the team was able to return to my home within a few days to complete the work. During the installation process, they placed plastic over the living room furniture to protect it from dust, which was a thoughtful gesture. They did a superb job on the lighting installation, and their professionalism was evident throughout the project. After completing the project, they even vacuumed and cleaned up afterwards, which was a nice touch. The quote that Jason provided was spot on, and I appreciated how transparent and honest he was throughout the process. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the quality of work that Sewell Electric provided, and I will definitely use them in the future if a need for related work arises. I highly recommend Sewell Electric to anyone in need of electrical services. Thank you, Jason, and the team at Sewell Electric, for a job well done!"

Emergency services offered

"Dan installed a new electrical panel, a new outdoor outlet for my rv, ran wire to the other side of the house and installed another upgraded outlet for my electric kiln. It was a messy job but at the end you couldnâ  t tell he had been there. He was reasonably priced and I intend to use him again."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For a safer, family-friendly home in Ogden, prioritize installing tamper-resistant outlets and GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. Use secure outlet covers and cord protectors, and lock electrical panels, especially in homes with curious children or pets. Shield outdoor wiring from pets and plan projects when children are at school or occupied, ensuring work areas are clearly marked and inaccessible during electrical upgrades.

Helpful?

To create an effective seasonal electrical inspection routine in Ogden, start each spring by checking outdoor outlets and panels for moisture after snowmelt. In summer, monitor circuits for overloads during heavy air conditioning use. Fall is ideal for testing emergency lighting and preparing for increased heating demands, while winter inspections should focus on space heater circuits and preventing ice dam-related electrical hazards. Regular inspections help maintain electrical safety year-round.

Helpful?

In Ogden, address urgent electrical issues like moisture-damaged panels, flickering lights, or burning smells without delay, as these can signal serious safety risks. Non-urgent upgrades, such as installing new fixtures or smart home systems, can typically wait for milder weather. Schedule larger outdoor electrical projects in spring or summer to avoid winter weather delays and ensure optimal safety and efficiency.

Helpful?

In Ogden, small electrical tasks like installing outlets or light fixtures usually take a few hours, while medium projects such as panel upgrades or kitchen rewiring often require most of a day. Larger jobs, like full home rewiring, may span several days. Weather conditions and permit approval times can extend project timelines, especially for exterior work during harsh Ogden winters.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Ogden, confirm if permits are needed and coordinate with utility providers for any planned service changes. Arrange for underground utility marking if digging is involved, and source materials from local suppliers to prevent delivery delays. Clear access to electrical panels, often located in basements, and consider scheduling indoor projects during winter to avoid weather-related interruptions.
