Customers say: Quick response

"I am pleased to provide a review for Jason and the team at Sewell Electric for their excellent work on my recent recessed lighting project. From the beginning, Jason was prompt in responding to my request for a project quote. He was able to come out the following day for a free consultation and quote, which was a great price compared to other electricians I had contacted. I was impressed with how quickly the team was able to return to my home within a few days to complete the work. During the installation process, they placed plastic over the living room furniture to protect it from dust, which was a thoughtful gesture. They did a superb job on the lighting installation, and their professionalism was evident throughout the project. After completing the project, they even vacuumed and cleaned up afterwards, which was a nice touch. The quote that Jason provided was spot on, and I appreciated how transparent and honest he was throughout the process. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the quality of work that Sewell Electric provided, and I will definitely use them in the future if a need for related work arises. I highly recommend Sewell Electric to anyone in need of electrical services. Thank you, Jason, and the team at Sewell Electric, for a job well done!"

Small jobs welcome

"I bought my grandmother's home that was built in the 60's with absolutely no living room lighting. Needless to say Cole came over to give me a bid and was absolutely reasonable with it. Adding 6 lights and switches to my living room and a dining room light (the previous light was off center). After he finished installing my living room lights he addressed a concern of mine in my electrical panel which was that my dryer and AC wires were double tapped, causing them to overload the breaker anytime I ran both at the same time. Cole took care of me without any complaint. He is very respectful, knowledgeable, and cleans up after himself with taking proper precautions by covering my floors before beginning work. I will have him do ANY of my electrical work (again being an older home I need some more updating) at my house or I will recommend him to anyone that needs it."

"He actually came more quickly than I expected and had it up and running very quickly. His initial opinion was that we might have to replace the whole unit, but he was able to effect a repair that he says should last for a few years. Definatly a good experience and I would use him again."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Upgrading electrical systems in Brigham City can enhance your home's value and attract buyers seeking modern features. Improvements such as panel upgrades, GFCI outlets, smart home wiring, and EV charging stations are popular and meet Utah safety codes. These updates are especially appealing to buyers relocating from nearby areas who expect up-to-date electrical systems and energy-efficient solutions.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Brigham City, use copper THWN-2 wire for most indoor applications and UF cable for outdoor wiring, as both perform well in local weather. Weather-resistant outlets and galvanized steel conduit are ideal for exterior use. AFCI and GFCI breakers, required by code, add safety and reliability. Local suppliers typically stock these materials, ensuring your project meets Brigham City standards.

Helpful?

Signs your Brigham City home may need electrical upgrades include frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, two-prong outlets, or outdated wiring such as aluminum or knob-and-tube. Homes built before the 1980s often require panel upgrades or additional circuits for modern appliances. With Brigham City's temperature swings, reliable electrical systems are crucial for heating and cooling, making timely upgrades especially important.

Helpful?

In Brigham City, electrical projects can impact systems like HVAC, plumbing, and home automation. Upgrading your panel may require adjustments to electric furnaces or water heaters, while adding smart home features or solar panels often involves coordinating with existing internet and utility setups. Reviewing your home's systems with a local pro helps ensure all upgrades integrate smoothly and comply with Brigham City requirements.

Helpful?

When hiring an electrical professional in Brigham City, prioritize experience with local building codes and familiarity with common home styles in the area. Verify insurance coverage and ask for references from recent Brigham City projects. A reputable pro will handle permits, schedule inspections, and coordinate with local utilities. Look for someone who communicates clearly about timelines and avoids requesting full payment upfront.
